Just wondering if the cB community could help me get my brain going..I have a group and I'm not seeing them until tomorrow but I think you guys could help..it's for school but it's an interesting idea and I know it'd be read more in here so I hope thats alright mods. _smile.gif

K, WELL...basically its a group project to come up with some experiment based on the ideas of "happenings", for ex. flash mobs, y'know? For example of a flash mob thats apparently being planning in Vancouver for the summer, a whole ton of people randomly showing up at the same time & same place for a huge ass waterfight then suddenly leaving haha. XD.gif Anyways...Here's what my assignment says:

"Suggestions include but are not limited to:
--Drawing attention to some unseen, subjective or overlooked quality (sound, emotional quality, unconscious acts) of the space or the activity that goes on there;
--Subverting the usual use or expectation of a space;
--Having your audience change a space over time; etc.

Possible types of Interaction but not limited to:
# Conceptual: We want to change how the audience thinks about a place.
# Social: We want to change the type of activity that the audience usually associates with a place.
# Political: We want to expose a hidden imbalance in power that exists at the place.
# Poetic: We want to create a moment of reflection / beauty in an unexpected place.
# Tele-presence: We want the audience to identity / communicate with a remote location.
# Etc.: Something else that is of interest to your team."

So yeah...I have some ideas but not great ones yet for tomorrow to meet with my group...I know another group is going to have this big bubble blowing session in this one part of my university haha but yeah, suggestions, thoughts, ideas? _smile.gif

I've always been a fan of the zombie walks.
Start a bunch of groups at near-by cemeteries.
Have everyone dress up like a zombie.
Have everyone zombie march to a spot of particular social or political interest.
A shopping mall doesn't hurt.
Man, I wanna plan some Flash Mobs.

Wow, this sounds really fun? Could the "Campaign for Free Hugs" be considered a flash mob? It seems to fit the criteria. You should definitely film whatever you guys are doing and post it on YouTube. I'd love to see what you come up with.
