Tutorial Request, self-explanatory

Okay, so theres website request, graphic request, myspace request, and well any other request for the resource center except for tutorials.

I know it sounds like it would be a waste of space, but a lot of people ask how to do something that we don't already have tutorials for, so why not have a tutorial request section and they can provide an example and explain what they would like to learn. I don't think there should be a post requirement since the tutorial can benefit them and others that go through the tutorial section just to learn something new.

opinions?

Isn't that kind of what we have the help forums for?

Like... people ask questions and people answer them. Rather than asking people to write a formal tutorial on request?

Okay, but wouldn't it be easier to right a tutorial lets say if someone ask how to make some professional such as this:

Its easier to direct them to a tutorial then sit there and try explaining it to them in a post.

Well, theoretically, any other request could benefit the requester and others as well, right? So I think a post requirement would be beneficial to discourage people who just demand something and leave.

With that, I wouldn't mind seeing a Tutorial Request forum, perhaps it might stir a designer to make a specific tutorial that they've been meaning to do but haven't gotten around to it. And if more tutorials are made, then in the Graphics Help forum, a link could just be made instead of having to repeat the instructions again.

well, yes i suppose.

So, you're suggesting that people would request a tutorial along the lines of 'How do i make a professional looking graphic', or 'how do i make a vintage looking graphic' (random examples, i know there is already a tutorial for the latter')?

But then... there are so many different tips/tricks/styles or whatever that people have that there's no real guarantee that the tutorial will actually provide what the original requester had in mind, if you know what i'm saying.

I don't think it's a particularly bad idea, I mean, you may as well have one, but I'm not sure how useful or busy it would turn out to be.

Point being, you understood what he said anyway. There's no reason to point out something as trite as a simple typo.

I agree with James in that it's the purpose of the help forum to ask how to make things. People can submit tutorials about said questions if they feel that it is asked a lot as they see fit. Plus, how active are the other request forums anyway? I highly doubt a tutorial request forum would pick up any more traffic.

^ Thats what the help forums are for...........

I actually think a tutorial request forum would be a good idea. I know the help forums are around , but just because we have one it wouldn't take away everything from them. I like the idea, my only thing is that if people wouldn't really help make the tutorials it would be pointless?
