My boyfriend and I have both been trying to come up with pet names to call each other. His full name is Zachary, but he goes by Zach. I've tried to think of names relating to his name that he would like, but I'm not having much luck. He absolutely hates the names Zachy, Zachariah, and doesn't really want me calling him Z. Does anyone know anymore nicknames for his name? Also, I've tried looking online for variations of the name in different languages and couldn't find anything. Help would greatly be appreciated.

I find that those kind of things just need to happen naturally, like you'll just be having fun and having a conversation, you think of a nickname, and it sticks. Other than that, "babe" or something of that like is usual among couples. shrug.gif

Yup...well I started calling my bf honey because..well..common for couple. Then one day we were talking and somehow I rhymed honey with bunny which also rhymed with his name so now I call him bunny. :)

Nicknames sort of just happen..

yeah, Just give it time. Don't really think of it. I started calling my friend Mermaid cause her name is Meredith and Mermy on AIM. So, I mean, just don't over think it. IT's not really important to the relationship. You know? But it does show your affection towards that person, so, I mean, if it's important to you, then don't try to over do and start calling him Zmac or something. Makes you look immature in a sense.

Yeah. Let it come naturally. :]]
My ex boyfriend started calling me "Sweetie" right after I said yes to going out with him. Wow. xD

"Sure, I'll go out with you."
"Aww, really sweetie?"

Give it time? That's pretty funny because him and I have been going out for over 16 months. We're both not fans of baby talk when flirting, so names like Zachy-poo probably won't work and I want something different. Hmm.

Hmm... he's not really my boyfriend... but we're like, more than friends but less than lovers. He calls me 'mumu', which is a Filipino word meaning 'ghost'. Okay, I know what you're thinking... weird pet name huh? It actually originated from a dream of his. That there was this ghost-girl in his dreams who was asking for a kiss... well that girl was actually me. That's why he calls me 'mumu' now.

...or he just wants to annoy me cause he knows I'm terrified of ghosts.

As for me? I call him cookie... cause he looks like one.

Nicknames come naturally for me, and usually has a weird or unusual history behind it.
