uh, go to the doctor?

you shouldnt ever miss that many periods. you probably should have considered a doctor when you missed your third period for the first time.

Visit a doctor and it'll figure out what's going on.

For the first year or so it's irregular.
If it doesn't regulate after a year, see a doctor.

Definitely visit a doctor. This happened to my friend, and it turned out that her uterus wasn't developed properly, and won't be able to have kids. Hopefully that's not an issue with you, but I'd go get it checked out anyway. Maybe you're stressing a lot? Hormones freaked out? It could be so many possibilities. Have some tests done to be sure it's nothing serious.

When you say theres no possible way you're pregnant, is that as in you're sure because you never had sex or sure because you used protection. If the latter, you should still test yourself or be tested.

Like skillxz said, if you didn't have sex or anything then you're not pregnant. Otherwise, it may just be some sort of minor health issue or stress. did you start it not too long ago?

If you're really active in sports, you'll tend to have irregular periods, or no periods at all due to the often associated low BMI. If you're really skinny, this'll happen too.

I've had my period for a year and 7 months and its never been regular i use to always skip a month i've already had an ultra sound done and I did have an ovary cyct but I believe thats gone now...I am sexually active but use condoms and I also took a pregnancy test which came out negative!.. the last time I had my period I got it in august and september which is weird cause I never get it 2 months in a row usually always skip a month or 2 or 3 but never 4 yet? well now I can say I have I guess If I dont get it by next month Ill go to a doctor!

Ps.. My mom was like this too she once missed 4 months of her period and actually believed she was pregnant and had my dad going out at all hours of the night getting her junk food lol so maybe it just runs in the family?

^ Well, it's most likely genetics. I suggest going on the pill, because it will regulate everything out. I'd still have some tests done to make sure it's nothing serious. You can never be too careful thumbsup.gif

Also, when you're sexually active, it does change your cycle. Maybe try holding off on that for a while, just to see what happens?

Maybe its a hormone imbalance? I think thats my problem... I'm 17 and I usually have one every 3 -4 months. I just had mine a week ago though for the first time since June. mellow.gif

Ackkk. But maybe go to the doctor to have your hormones checked? I think its just simple blood work.

If all else fails, I'll suggest going to a clinic to have those results confirmed, just to be safe.

Ask your doctor first about your irregular cycles.

Possibly, but depends on how old you are and you might wanna get it checked if you're over 18 and don't have your period.

Another reason for irregular periods is "bad" eating habits. Like not eating enough dairy or protein. I just found out last week thats why I never get my periods. I haven't had one in more than a year and I'm 16. I'm not skinny or have sex either or exercise too much so I went to the doctor and she said it had to do with not eating enough variety of different food. So I developed a low metabolism disorder that throws off your periods. Now I'm going to see a nutritionist and all that. So that might be what's going on with you. So eat well as I learned now lol.

But my doctor was able to figure this out after I was tested to make sure nothing else was wrong with me. It's not discoverable until all the other options are crossed out.

no, its whenever your body is ready, that's when you start your period.

Sometimes a doctor will put you on birth control to regulate your period even if your not sexually active so maybe give that a try. Just talk to your doctor

i definitely reccommend seeing a doctor about this.
do you play a lot of sports/excersize a lot?
that could be your problem; excersizing a lot delays periods.

anyway, see your doctor!

It really depends on what you're taking. Double check with the doctor or clinician or pharmacist when they give you the stuff. Also, scares like this are a good reminder to check up on the STD testing, and maybe get a double check on the pregancy test. (just in case)
