Stupid Crush, ...why do I have it?? Options

Okay....this is really dumb of me and I dunno why I have this crush on this person at all. Alrightie, I'm a freshman in highschool and I joined swim team. I've been swimming for about five years straight and there's this guy who's been swimming on the same team(s) as me for years. I've been noticing that lately I've been kind of....nervous whenever I talk to him or jumpy around him. He's a senior this year and it sucks that I have this crush on him b/c:
a. He probably doesn't even look at the lower classmen
b. This crush suddenly came out of no where and I can't stop...like....well I can control my thoughts but still, its lingers in my mind! But I've had about two dreams about him! (Which sounds VERY strange, I know, even I got scared myself!)
c. I'm probably not even attractive to him anyways because I'm not even pretty and there's a lot of prettier girls that are senior and he's leaving to college where he'll find even more attractive girls.
I dunno why I suddenly realized that I like this guy...maybe its becuz I've seen how nice he can be. I don't mean to say he's a complete angel but he kind of acts like my older brother (when he was nice and normal) and this guy, that I have a crush on, IS the oldest sibling in his family.
For instance, there was a time I was REALLY upset during swim practice and I fell far behind in my lane (mind you, I'm in the same lane as this guy) and he noticed I was all the way in the back. He called me over to come to the front of the lane (b/c I'm usually the swimmers that go first) and then he noticed I was crying a lil and constantly kept asking if I was alright, asking if I wanted to get out of the pool to rest and patted my back a lot.
Maybe this one times isn't good enough proof...and maybe I'm just being sooo stupid! xP
I seriously, would like to know what is this feeling? Is it really just a crush...?
Anyway, sorry this is REALLLY long...and I must being killingyour eye sockets now! O.O;;

I don't think it's up for cBers to decide whether or not it's a crush or not, but from what you've said.. it pretty much seems like you have a crush on him. People get crushes all the time. Don't freak out too much.

I agree with Tina. XD I think you're in one of those confusing stages of having a crush. haha. People get that a lot. They're confused whether they like somebody or not, but having feelings like that.. mm, well, I'd think you have a crush on him. You shouldn't deny it and kill your hopes. Nahh. I just don't dig the leaving things in lockers idea. If you had a lock on your locker and opened it one day to find all this random flowery stuff, wouldn't you be freaked?

If you don't write your name on the card it's just kind of like... "Yeah, I'm not too sure about myself..." His guesses could be anywhere, and once he finds it's you... he could be disappointed.

He sounds like a nice guy though. You should probably just write him a short note and be all "happy valentine's day" and see his reaction.

I wouldn't spend money on him; it seems slightly obvious if you buy him chocolate and not everyone else.

Yes, it is a crush. A crush is basicly, you looking at a guy and thinking that he is everything you ever wanted and more without ever getting to know him. You are basicly seeing a few qualities in him that you like (his looks, chivalry... etc.) and filling in everything you don't know about him with everything you hope him to be.

Instead of worrying about what's wrong with you. Try and figure out what it is that makes him so appealing to you. If you can figure that out, you might have a better feeling for what you want in a boyfreind when you actually start dating.

Don't let this thing control you, if you let it mess with your head to much you'll end up very dissapointed if you don't end up with him.

Well, I think that if you do buy chocolates you should deffinitly write your name on them. I mean, what if he thinks it's another girl and ends up going after her.

oh, yeah, that's a really good point. just make sure he likes chocolate.... or, like two posts above, don't go crazy spending a lot of money on him and not everybody else, word can spread quickly. i would just go for the card, and ask him maybe if he'd like to hang out or something.

hey everybody! thanks for all of your advice (whether its what I wanted to hear or not) but they were all very good! =D

Anyway, I decided I'm just going to write him a letter and put it ON his locker (not inside, b/c I do agree it does seem weird) and I'm going to write my initals. Well....I dunno, I might acutally just write my name, but I'm REALLY nervous about writing my name down b/c I dun want to embarrass him in front of his friends that a freshman has a crush on him. xP Epsecially, since it might not even work out and I'll wind up hurt in the end...

Well, I'll try to be just friends with him if thats the case, I've ben trying to force myself to talk with him more on friendly terms which I'm pretty proud I've done so far!

Yup, what Tina said. You know, you'll find the right one in life by all means. Just, let them come to you. Either that, or make a move. Get a prettied up and approach him. He'll notice you, and I bet he won't be all like "omg, who are you?" because not all guys are like that.
Talking to the guy IRL to tell him you like him is probably the best way to do it, not with a note, imo. Just, get to know him better. It'll all make sense eventually.

Yes, it's easy to fall for a person, at least from what I see from most people.
It's natural to have a crush and you probably do have a crush on this guy, but he seems like a pretty good guy.

You shouldn't be doubting yourself too soon, because you've been around him for a long time, which means he has too. Usually if you're around a person for a long time, you start to fall for them. I can't guarantee that he'll return your feelings, but you should give yourself a chance because anything is possible.

Some one that is immature and not worth his time. So, don't put a note in his locker. If you already did...good luck. Hahaha. I'm just saying that if you want to look more appealing to a senior then try acting like one and stop going around and acting like a seventh grader. I'm not trying to be mean, if it sounded like it, then it's just the words. I really do hope you get over this, one way or another.

Also, for me, it's very easy to get a crush on some one. Ask Josh. Hahah. I've went out with some one who I only had a crush on. Maybe even three girls. Who's to tell? haha. Anyway, the thing is, do you really think it would be worth it to waste your time by going out with some one you barely know? Make sure you get to know him. Don't be friends with him. I really don't know if that works oppositely, but when your a guy, if you like a girl, it's the worst thing to become friends with girls. Cause that's exactly where you'll stay....most of the time.

Don't put him up on a pedistal. You don't know him that well. it's not like he's one of your good friends.

it's a crush. don't worry! & my friend's a freshman & her boyfriend's a senior. anything is possible. so don't think negative, okay? i used have a low self-esteem when it came to guys & thought there were too many pretty girls to even be noticed. but you know what i have to say to the old me & everyone else who's like that? get over yourself. who are you not to be attractive & interesting?
