Before I start the topic I guess I'll just tell you guys/girls about myself since I am new. K well I'm 18 and I'm in High School right now and I am 5"7 (Yes I know I'm short lol). I love to weight lift. Before I started I was 110 pounds now I weigh 150. (sigh) sadly I have yet to have a girlfriend. It seems I can be friends with them but not *close* enough. Last time I asked a girl out she laughed and walked away the other said she hates my personality cry.gif

Ok well I like this girl and I've liked her for some time now. She is in my english class. I was you know shy around girls I liked but this one I can talk to. I sometimes sit with her in english but of course my friends always insist that i sit with them.

But everytime I talk to her I...well most of the times make myself look like a total idiot. I just say stupid things sometimes for no reason at all it just pops out without me even thinking about it. I just seem to say the wrong things. But other times I make her laugh alot. That is one of my positives is that I make people laugh all the time. I really like this girl but I wanna have like a nice conversation with her. Plus someday I hope to ask her out and she will say yes but I guess I got to slowly work my way up.

One piece of advice. Don't treat her like your friend or that's exactly what you'll be. I know you don't want that. Don't put her on a pedistal. If you need me to elaborate more let me know.

^Agreed. My boyfriend's friend had a girl ask
me to go out with him almost a year ago.

Though I had a lot of reasons for freaking out and saying no,
one of the reasons why was because he was this neat little friend of mine
and suddenly the thought of him liking me and being with him,
it sort of urked me. Got me from behind and didn't process in my mind well.
Moral of story: let your intentions be known? blink.gif

As for you acting like an idiot. I think it's pretty common,
it can be a bit awkward sometimes talking to someone you like..

Just don't make a big deal out of it, laugh it off.
Everyone makes mistakes, just be yourself with her.

Aw, you sound like a sweet guy that cares about this girl. I'm sorry that 1st girl laughed at you when you asked her out. Don't go thinking we're all bad okay-haha she was prob. shallow in the first place. Anyways, I don't know what advice you need because you seem to be good at trying to talk to her in class and hanging w/ her in class. And that does take effort and I wish guys would do that now these days. So kudos to you, but ya know..Valentine's day is coming up..so find some creative way or a simple sweet message of asking her out. This would show her how much you gone out of your way to do so, because nobody's creative anymore..so find some way. I'm sure you'll find it, plus every girl wants a valentine..even though we hate to admit it but it will def. make her smile.

I'm just gonna say this once, DON'T ACT LIKE YOU JUST WANNA BE FREINDS! That's a bad idea. It's happened to me, and it sucks. You feel defeated when you really haven't been.

You gotta be honest with her. Better to try and fail than not try and don't know what could've happened.

Wow, you people must no a lot of short Filipinos. Although many of them are short, I know a lot who are fricken tall. But hey, I'm just a Junior in a mainly Filipino school...perhaps I'll see more of the shorter ones once I leave.

Anyway Mr. 18 Year Old, I think whatever height you are shouldn't be the point of this topic. Like everyone else said, being friends with her may not be the best idea. ALTHOUGH, some chicks say they would rather start off as friends/get to know a guy better before going out with them. I'm sure you've heard that before. So I say, find out if she would rather be friends first or just start flirting here and there.

I'm really no good at this, just listen to everyone else then =/
