It's in the revelations section of the bible..and the end of the world is supposed to be like a all sudden darkness where god takes his protecting hand of the world so natural disasters and all take place..
in the bible they describe the new Jerusalem and it sounds beautiful..so beautiful that its unimaginable.
But I'm a Christian, so I believe..

if there was world war 3, then Jesus will come down to this earth and will take the people who believed in the son of God to heaven and the rest to hell.

If there was WWIII, I'd command the Glorious Imperial Army to smite my enemies and declare the new reign of the Emperor Aetius I.

I have observed several sites of which all predicted that the world as we no it will come to an end.
One suggested that on the 6th day of the 6th month 2006 the antichrist shall arise. (666 devils symbol)
Another suggsted that on the same date previously mentioned that the world will be exposed to a nuclear holocaust due to conflicts between the west and middle eastern nations particularly Iraq and Iran. The nuclear war is said to destroy a third of earths population.
Another prediction was the invasion of extraterrestrials resulting in the enslavement of humankind

Either one sounds bad
It may be possible too as 06/06/2006 has been said to be a date for armageddon according to The bible code

bible code has predicted the end of the world to the 1990s.

i can find, in any long enough work, a code like bible code that will say anything i want it to.

the 'end of the world' has been predicted by many groups, and has passed many times.

it's not over yet.

Man, me either. It's almost as if I want this more than anything. I can't even imagine what heaven is going to be like. All I know is that I'm going on the fastest train I can. If I wanted this even more then I'd commit suicide. ^.^

No actually, because all people who commit suicide have a mental imbalance.
Which makes it not their fault....

^^ So you're saying I'm crazy for trying to attempt suicide four times?
Jesus comming back. Hm. I'm really skeptical about that one. I think it's 'cause I'm turning agnostic. mellow.gif

But I do believe in the afterlife. Whether it's Heaven or not, I don't know.

The End of the World seems really scary. But didn't Copernicus predict the end of the world was going to be May something of 1985?

but committing suicide is taking God's power into your own hands, no? is that not a sin?

^ i don't think you're crazy, i share your "mental imbalance" rolleyes.gif

a lot of people predicted the end of the world, but as of yet, i don't see it happening.

and you spelled "correlation" wrong in your signature. i thought i'd point that out because it's ironic when you talk about knowledge in the same sentence as a misspelled word..:p unless you did that on purpose, which is possible cause nicki did it once too.

"ooh i cant wait until the imaginary man in the sky comes down and saves us all.. yippee..."

its not like anyone knows for sure when the world will end. NO ONE knows if the bible, evolution, or any of the other theories are real.

Question: Does the bible mention dinosaurs? Theres proof that they are real.

well, the bible doesn't mention them.

and because the bible doesn't mention them, they don't exist. they were made up by satanic scientists.

of course, the bible also doesn't mention a x-ray, so that is wrong and your fracture can remain un-alined.

Christian Humanism, muthas! biggrin.gif

I honestly don't believe that the world will end during my lifetime. The end is near, yes. Death by fire, right? The logic in believing that the next World War will be armageddon isn't far off if you're a firm believer in revelations.

As for me, I don't get worked up about it. I don't let thoughts of hellfire and brimstone engulfing the earth scare me. I'm pretty solid in my faith, I'm also apathetic to all of its mumbo jumbo. I'm living my life as a good person and I'm trying my damnedest to serve others. Whatever happens, happens. I'm not afraid of death.

the Bible is a book....it governs the lives of those who sees its purpose and share its doctorine of love and righteousness.

I do not believe in the Bible, God, Jesus, or the End Times, because I don't believe in fear. Fear of your life leaving your possession, fear that you won't get a chance in the afterlife...fear, fear, fear....I've had enough fear for me.

If the world ends, it's only because we've all given up and decided to let someone else control the future for us. That's been proven throughout time. Once people surrender, they begin to lose the fight and fear the world. Surely the world they once knew has ended. Sometimes, their worlds come back, other times their worlds really do end. Lots of ancient civilizations have disappeared. Science supports that, as does history. Just because the civilization, hence the world we know, ends, doesn't mean that life does.

PS- I believe that the Bible is all symbolic and that taking it literally can really damage your insight.

PPS- Trying to end your life does not make you a failure. Having the strength to get up and go on afterwards makes you a better person. To know one side of the coin, you must know the other.... wink.gif

the bible helps set a moral code and a foundation to how we govern ourselves. i do not believe in the bible, but that's not to say i don't believe that there isn't a higher being. there's no point in worrying about the end; the future. the present is what's happening, and that's even more important.

The Bible refers to the Rapture as the end of the world. This is when Jesus returns to take Christians to Heaven with Him - all material things, including all clothing will be left behind. The only people left on Earth will be those who haven't accepted Christ and like 150,000 who have, and what is left will be controlled by the devil. The remaining Christians must preach the word to all sinners who were not taken to Heaven, and give them another chance to save themselves. This, I believe, is what will be considered the end of the world.

at a christian school. i've been brought up in a place where the rapture is going to be the end of the world. i've never heard that god is going to battle with the devil, where did you learn that? why would he waste his time anyways, god would obviously win.

I think the problem here is people have been known to translate the bible in many different ways, even the same exact phrase can be manipulated to reveal a different side or viewpoint.......it is immpossible to have one clear cut view of this matter, because it is not said that way in the bible. So there really is no "truth" "right or wrong"... just what you and others interpret it to be.

if what I type right here comes true, will you start believing the endtimes is true?

this is straight from the Bible...

Jesus said that the last days would be preceded by several things: many false Christs would come, deceiving many; we would “hear of wars and rumors of wars”; and there would be an increase in “famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:5-8). Today’s news is full of apostate religions, warfare, and natural disasters. We know that events of the Tribulation will include all that Jesus predicted (Revelation 6:1-8); what we see today seems to be a build-up for greater trouble ahead.

Paul warned that the last days would bring a marked increase in false teaching. “In the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1). The last days are described as “perilous times” because of the increasingly evil character of man and people who actively “resist the truth” (2 Timothy 3:1-9; see also 2 Thessalonians 2:3). Our Twenty-first Century world has embraced moral relativism, tainting even the church. For example, many denominations are having a hard time defining marriage as being between one man and one woman, and many religious leaders today are openly supporting homosexuality. The Bible has become subordinate to the modern church’s quest for a more appealing “truth.” These are indeed “perilous times” spiritually.

The formation of the European Union—and the fact that we have a reunified Germany—is very interesting in light of biblical prophecy. The “ten toes” of Daniel 2:42 and the ten-horned beasts of Daniel 7:20 and Revelation 13:1 are references to a “revived” Roman Empire which will hold power before Christ returns. The pieces seem to be falling into place, politically.

In 1948, Israel was recognized as a sovereign state, and this, too, has ramifications for the student of scripture. God promised Abram that his posterity would have Canaan as “an everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:8), and Ezekiel prophesied a physical and spiritual resuscitation of Israel (Ezekiel 37). Having Israel as a nation in its own land is important in light of end-time prophecy, because of Israel’s prominence in eschatology (Daniel 10:14; 11:41; Revelation 11:8).

Recommended Resource: Understanding End Times Prophesy by Paul Benware.
