Hong Kong. I'm being a little biased here since I sort of do live in Hong Kong already, but I just like it better there, too. Shopping is amazing, food is great and the lifestyle is fast-paced, but that's the way I like it.

Hong Kong since I've lived there before. And if I really were to live there, I'd actually survive longer, for I can't speak Japanese all too well. Plus I have relatives there. Muahaha.

very tough decision. I'm from HK and my entire family is there. And I absolutely love the place. But Tokyo is just so fascinating, not to mention that I'm going there for the second time in a couple of days.
For me, I think I'd like to live in HK, but visit Tokyo often. |

Well if it's the NYC for asians, then it must be pretty big. I wonder what the population is. ![]() hong kong-6,940,432 (July 2006 est.) new york-18,976,457 ; 3rd, 12/00 keep in mind..that this is the entire state. not just the city. but, anyways. i wasnt speaking of the popuation. they have very busy streets, subways, shopping malls/stores/ ect EVERYWHERE. and food, too. =] |

I would either choose both, or Tokyo. Tokyo I think gives off a little more towards the normal society, seems like its a little high in everyones opinions.
Although I think it would be interesting to visit either one some day. |

how do you compare a city with a country? which one's the city which one's the country? last i heard they were both cities. i would pick hong kong. not just because i'm from there... but in addition to all the cool japanese gadgets we also get all the cool american/english stuff (& lots of designer shit). we're far more diverse. oh and NIGHTLIFE<3 the bars, the clubs... not just cheap japanese hooker bars either. and sometimes japanese people freak me out in tokyo ![]() ![]() ..i guess once you leave HK after living there for 12-13 years you realize how wonderful it is. QUOTE Way too overcrowded for my liking. Tokyo is one thing, but the population density in HK is ridiculous. are you sure? bcos i've been to both places multiple times and the streets of tokyo always seems far more crowded.. |

im a 100%hong konger and im 100% satisfied with that.
at least u won't be threatened by volcanoes, hurricanes or earthquakes here haha :D u can find hong kong people more frank. they show everything on their faces. they seldom pretend. and hong kong is so small that you can easily know every road and street (haha maybe not but u know wt i mean) and have a familiar and warm feeling to the city yet u wont be bored by it. never. |
