GOSSIP GIRL OWNS! I really hope they make it into a movie, although it could also make an interesting television series. Provided that it does justice to the books.

Although I wish Cecily was still writing them. And that Jenny hadn't left.

The burning question is, WHO is Gossip Girl?

^ What are you talking about? It never ended. The latest (10th) book was Would I Lie To You?, and the 11th one is coming out on May 1, 2007, called Don't You Forget About Me.

^x2 I read in an interview with Cecily von Ziegesar that the GG books are now ghostwritten, she won't be writing them herself anymore but will still be credited as the creator of the series (notice the difference on the cover of book 10, how the "created by" was added?) The same thing goes with "The It Girl" series. Websites selling the book say that she's "currently working on the eleventh book in the series", though, so I dunno.

I did notice a bit of a difference in writing in GG #10, but I guess it's all the same in the end. I liked it better when they were all still in high school.

^ Ghostwritten, huh? I wouldn't've been able to notice. It's not especially hard to emulate CvZ's writing, in this series anyway. GG has never been a particularly stimulating read. You have to admit though, it's immensely addicting.

There's a tenth book? What's it called?
And I heard that they will be filming and making Gossip Girl into a show.

The tenth Gossip Girl novel is called Would I Lie To You. The eleventh novel, coming out May 1, 2007, is called Don't You Forget About Me.

There was a rumour that GG was going to be made into a movie and that Lindsay Lohan would play Blair, but that's not going to happen I guess...but a movie may still be in the works? I don't see a GG television series going very far, though. ermm.gif

If there's a Gossip Girl movie, i definitely want to see it.

So do you mean CVZ didn't really write books 10, 11 etc at all?

Yeah, that movie was totally scrapped. At least, from the information (or lack, thereof) that's available at IMDb. But yeah, there is going to be a GG TV show.

Try requesting it through your county system or something. or just go to the bookstore and read it there.

A GG TV show? That actually sounds better than a movie..

No, I don't think so, CVZ hasn't given any indication that it would be. But GG has to end SOMETIME, I just hope it will have a good ending with not too many questions left to ask (highly unlikely.) And for everyone's sake, JUST TELL US WHO GOSSIP GIRL IS, CECILY!!! It makes us (me) sad. =(

But the thing is...what if we finally find out who Gossip Girl is, but she's someone we've never heard of? That'll be kind of disappointing.

Seriously and it would make her sort of stalkerish because she knows so much about every one even if she's in a different location as she claims...Wouldn't it be wierd if GG was actually a guy? It's sort of unlikely but the GG series is very suprising.

Yeah, I know, huh? I mean...think about it. If she really was as 'cool' as all the other girls in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, wouldn't she have better things to do than to keep track of what everyone's doing at every given moment?

I say that GG is one of the terribly annoying girls like Kati Farkas or Isabel Coates, or someone that's not in their crowd at all. Oh, dear, what if it's Chuck Bass?

HAHA, Chuck would be an awesome Gossip Girl! In one of the earlier books, wasn't GG speculated to be a guy? But she denied it. I also thought it could possibly be Kati or Isabel, but I doubt that they would talk about themselves on the site, especially since Gossip Girl doesn't necessarily always have the best things to say about them?

This is driving me crazy.

I reeeeeeally want to see a TV show, though. I hope it doesn't get cancelled faster than you can say Smith.

^ yeah that's what i was thinking. i mean, a lot of people read the books but who knows how good the tv show will be? just like movies, usually the book ends up being better...
