Have you ever thought that maybe your skin can't handle proactiv? Proactiv isn't for everyone, because people have different types of skin such as oily, dry, and sensitive. It may help some people's skin, but everyone's skin can't handle the chemicals that are embedded in the proactiv formula.

^ thumbsup.gif well said.

i think maybe you should try something else, like clean & clear/neutrogena? or you can maybe try to put lotion after you use proactiv?

dont use it in row, like each day, because that dries out your skin, use it every like 2 days. then apply small amoutns each time

proactiv is once again said, not for everyone.

if you cut back on the washes with it and like Melissa said use it every couple of days... during those couple of days, wash your face with a gentle cleaner that uses benhydroxyl (sp?) the same ingredient found in proactiv.

or an even better way ( not really if you start breaking out again) use neutrogena. (i don't like clean and clear... it doesn't work for me) or something else...

like allergy medications, after a while the cleaner doesn't work with you skin as well. you need to find another cleaner and switch every like 2 years.

Ew, don't use vaseline. It will only clog your pores even more, causing more breakouts, along with dry skin.

How often are you using it? How many times a day? I would recommend just using it every other day or maybe once a day. I have really, REALLY sensitive skin so mine dries out all the time. Try using an oil-free moisturizer on the dry patches, or aloe vera gel. Drinking tons of water will help everything clear up about 5x faster, I swear. I didn't think it would, but believe me, I've been there.

Proactiv does not work. The moisturizing lotion is fine; however, the cleanser and the toner don't work. They are superfluous and unnecessary. I've been a user for several years, and all it has done is just ruin my skin.

If you're serious about getting rid of your acne, keep a healthy diet and a routine to wash your face day and night. If you want a good routine, check out http://www.acne.org. This guy is a genius. Trust me on this one.

I used Proactiv a couple years ago and distinctly remember it drying out my face and turning it blotchy red because I have sensitive skin. I quit because I looked up the ingredients one day and realized that this wasn't the stuff for me. Currently, I am using more chemical free products and it is helping with my skin greatly. As someone said, Aloe Vera is a great anti-inflammatory and very healing and balances the pH of your skin. I use it as a toner. Anyways, best of luck!
