If you had to eliminate one thing out of these two in this world, what would you choose and why?, Racism or Violence?

I would eliminated violence. And I think you should say "discrimination or violence", cuz racism is only one kind of discrimination.

Well a lot of racism creates violence. But I'd probably have to go with violence because if there wasn't violence and terrorism there wouldn't be war.

I'm going to go with racism, because I think that would be easier/more attainable than violence. Violence.. will always exist. I think (hope) that in the future, racism will have ceased. sad.gif

Sadly, I think that you can't rid the world of racism. Everybody discriminates against somebody else in some way. It's part of human nature, and we're all influenced by other people and society as a whole. It all comes back to just prejudice as a whole. And also stereotyping. When you see something/one different than you, wouldn't you react to it differently?

And to note, I'm not standing up for racism or anything; I'm just stating that it's natural for people to feel a different way about something.

Violence, because there'll be no more violence caused by racism.

I'd say racism (discrimination) over violence. As was pointed out, racism is one cause of violence. As for terrorism, I think racism (or at least, discrimination) plays a part there as well. Radical religous persons are to blame IMO, but I can't help but feel that racism is included.

Most people feel a different way about something because of their influences. I wouldn't say it's "natural" to prejudge, but to question maybe.

I would eliminate violence. Then there'd be better ways for people to solve their problems.

lol avenue q

everyone's a little bit racist sometimes
doesn't mean we go around committing hate crimes
look around and you will find
no one's really color blind
maybe it's a fact we all should face
everyone makes judgments based on race

if we all could just admit
that we are racist a little bit,
even though we all know
that it's wrong,
maybe it would help us
get along.

Racism, because it not only provokes violence, it's a form of discrimination, and causes emotional scars for the victims of it.

Wow, that was a major run-on.

hmm good issue, i think this should be in debate

but for me, its racism. where i grew up racism lead to violence, people who claim who lead to violence, or people who claim territory, lef to violence. gangs lead to violence. i mean the war is one thing a dispute among countries. but there is already a war in the our nation against our selves and the way we judge and think about people.

Ah, a lesser of two evils. I'd have to say violence. Racism, as I see it from a world standpoint, doesn't have as large of an effect and most of the time doesn't lead to violence. That's usually just extremists who have something wrong with them other than the fact that they're racist. They also need to be eliminated. It usually results in petty remarks and avoidance.

If you eliminate violence, racism wouldn't be as big of a problem. Sure, you might get your feelings hurt (I have before) but be the bigger person and look past it. If violence is gone and they can't hurt you, why worry about it?

Also, you guys say racism leads to violence but that's not the only cause for violence. Eliminating violence would not only lessen the threat of racism but solve many other problems as well.

Gah. It's hard to choose one, but I'd have to say violence. It's really heartbreaking to hear stories about child abuse & homicides, etc. But if I could, I'd eliminate both. >.< Racism is pretty much as equally as hurtful as violence.
