GOOD shampoos?, does it exist? Options

I have been searching SO LONG for a good shampoo.
My hair's extremely thick (I use "Black" hair products sometimes even though I'm white- that's how thick is), a dark, un-dyed color, frizzy (but only poofy on the sides, I'm flat on top), and oily, sometimes. Is it possible to be oily AND frizzy? Haha my hair's so screwed up...

I've never done any "damage" or anything- I've never straightened or curled or dyed.

Any shampoo suggestions?

umm I used to work at Ulta, there are a lot of higher end quality shampoos that work wonders. I have a lot of the problems you have (but my hair is chemically treated on top of being..well nappy lol) and I would recommend a brands called HEMPZ. What it sounds like is you have undernourished hair, and most black hair products are high in oil but not neccesarily meant to moisturize. And the reason you are poofy on the sides and flat at the scalp is because of oil buildup at your scalp. SO I would recommend HEMPZ moisturizing shampoo and conditioner combo. and make sure you don't use any leave in comditioner products. Umm...I'm trying to think who else has good stuff...um Redken is carried nationwide (its possible that hempz is only here since its made in dallas) and they have a moisturizing line as well. Just make sure you don't buy cheapo hair products (anything under 8 dollars a bottle) because they tend to deposit crap on your hair that makes it feel good for short term but actually is damaging it. So go to a salon (or try to find an ulta they have great prices) and buy salon quality hair products. also if you have extremely oily hair, try paul mitchells tea tree shampoo and conditioner. its very good for your scalp and can help with dry scalp and oily scalp. the shampoo is one of the best shampoos you can buy for the price, and it gets your hair about as clean as you can imagine.

so yeah I used to deal with hair products a lot so I have learned a lot. if you absolutely must stick to a budget, i would recommend garnier fructis for oily hair and they have a three step system that is like shampoo, conditioner and a deep conditioner. Just make sure you don't leave any products in your hair because it is just going to weight it down more. also consider investing in a good flat iron (don't touch revlon, conair, vidal sasoon, etc) if you want a good cheap one look for a brand called andis they have great products. And if you are going to use any kind of heat on your hair be sure to buy a silk serum...I recommend chi silk infusion. Be careful witht hat stuff cuz too much will drench our hair. just a bit for your ends. but that will greatly increase the managability of your hair and the chi silk infusion will actually reverse any damage from heat products. yeah okay thats all I got for you.

chi's silk serum is great...bt I also like Stiff @#!%'s bored straight, it works wonders with my hair, and it's pretty thick. Fructis is good, but I find that it runs out really fast, so it's not as in budget as it seems. have you tried got2b?

I don't know of any products specifically, but you should definitely use more then shampoo. I'd use shampoo, conditioner (put in, rinse out), and serum.

Go to a hairstylist for suggestions.

i use pantene. im asian and i have pretty thick hair and i think pantene works pretty well. i have to use conditioner though, can't live without it.

Thanks, all. I'm using Pantene right now, but it's sort of stopped doing anything for my hair...
I'll definitely try out some of the higher-end products y'all were suggesting! :)
