I am choosing a formal dress for a party. But I need help in deciding which look is the best. I am cheap and don't feel like spending too much. Windsor store has some cute dresses but I couldn't afford. Haha.

I want some opinions on the outfit I have now, but I still need a handbag (less than $20) and if I need other accessories or changes in my outfit.

And with that dress, I don't even need a necklace.

Halter Dress: Forever 21 $27.80

Jacket: Forever 21 $29.80

Headband: I forgot where it is but it costs $3

Flats: Old Navy $19.50

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Is the party purely formal? Because the pieces you've picked are a little on the semi-formal side, maybe a tad too casual.

^It wasn't like a prom, so I don't have to dress that formal.

The black and the brown accessories together don't look so great. It's nice otherwise though.

formal is like prom dress. That's semi-formal dude. The headband is a little too casual there.

just wear a little black dress, or white. You can't go wrong there.

The things you've picked out isn't my fave but I like the headband.

Try Charlotte Russe for a black dress.
& they have shoes or flats for $18 there.
Then I'd get a bright (maybe yellow, red, or green) clutch purse from Forever 21 to go with it.
Voila!

& if you get a red clutch, you can wear that headband!

The dress is super cute, but I don't really like the jacket. And the headband...I'm not really sure if it matches that well with the dress. Sorry, I can't see the flats.

get rid of the head band. it makes it look like you're trying too hard.

I think the jacket and headband doesn't quite match the dress and shoes ermm.gif

Maybe try and get some softer color jackets?

if the event says formal, go formal. It doesn't have to be a prom dress, just pick out a simple piece you can wear again. "little black dresses' are usually a good reusable piece, but maybe on the semi-formal side. Just go for a full length simple, slim black dress. Can't go wrong.

p.s. the jacket and the headband are too informal

change the flats to like patented leather bright red flats or heels. everything is pretty much ok ... you might want to wear a bright red thick belt around that waist but its still stylish.
