have any of you read it? i usually don't read out of my young-adult-sarah-dessen type stuff, but my friend recommended that i read it. i just finished the chapter about his brother, and to be honest, i am sort of scared to read the next chapter, titled "the joys of sex" because i glanced at it and oh well, it is sort of graphic. i don't have a problem with it but me mum is quite overprotective. lol rolleyes.gif

but so far it is very interesting i really like it.

Augusten Burroughs is an absolutely delightful writer. I personally don't think Running with Scissors is his best, and much preferred both Dry and Magical Thinking. I have yet to read his Possible Side Effects. In any case, I digress. The anecdotes presented in Running With Scissors were pretty bizzarre to fathom. It was his first collection of memoirs that I read, and in retrospect, it was a pretty good one to start off with (considering it was the first that he'd written).

I read this book. It was quite interesting the way he writes about his past. There's slight humor in it, but not in the amusing way. I thought this book was strange, but good.

Just fnished reading this. . .
a crazy memoir, really funny and bizzare, and kinda sad when you realize that this actually happened to him.
And yeah, there are some parts of the book that are pretty graphic, so I wouldn't recommend too many younger kids reading it.
But his style is great, his sense of humor is glorious.

If i have a chance, will def read his other books.

I thought this book was hilarious, and I loved it. I want to read more of his memoirs soon.
