here's something to think about. don't you just hate those cheap ugly plain layouts made by places like (link removed, cB doesn't want to be blamed for bashing.) .. iono i just want to say it here.. but what piece of crap.. seriously anyone else know sites like this.. all they do is google search something and make it the background or add text/quotes to the header.. you get the deal. anyone here remember the toopowerful topsites? how did sites like those ever get on top 10. can you believe it.. they actually have a Creative Commons license.. who'd steal stuff like that?

You have a point, and to be honest, I used to be into that stuff. It's just that most people aren't really aware of what exactly quality is. Thus the popularity of those sites.

Just let people do what they wanna do. It's not like it's anything wrong, even if it's not very good or not very original.
I used to be a designer and I kinda thought layouts like that were a little pathetic, but they never really bothered me. At least they try and wanna help people who are completely html-illiterate out. |

aw i guess i missed out on the link before it was removed. but what are you guys talking about here? like layouts that just look good but are the most simplest? i never joined the top powersites, or handed in layouts.

Yea I've seen things like this often, people like the stuff they make. People don't like really neat stuff they like the plain and ugly things. I I'm thinking the same person that you were referring then I have to agree as bad I feel for saying that

The layouts with the huge font, swirlies and overused brushes annoy me now.
 I prefer the neat and simple.
