Just something I'm curious about, because I seem to debate people about this a lot. In high school, I find it most important to have a close, true best friend that would do anything for you. In my opinion, this is the kind of relationship that you maintain after high school and ends up making a bigger impact on your life. But that's just me.

EDIT: Oops, I meant to post this in relationships, so if someone wants to move it...

Well the problem with girl/boyfriend is sometimes it gets complicated but I would say group because that way you have people you can depend on here and there.

I would say that having a group of friends is the best thing to do, you always have someone there if something wrong happens. I on the other hand don't really have any friends. I have a few perhaps, don't really find them to be that great of friends. Having a boyfriend or girlfriend could be nice, but if that relationship ever ends, and you were highly attached then you could perhaps put yourself downhill by being sad or depressed only to end up reflecting on your grades. A close best friend is nice as well.

Personally in some ways I don't think you really sound get attached to anyone in high school, atleast someone thats there. You could end up getting in some stupid drama fest and have it really effect you and mess with your head. Some people don't let it get to them and shrug it off, which in the end could also make you look like you don't care.

-shutting up-

Its a very confusing subject honestly. Theres many opinions that could go in this.

Group of friends..

Idk.

I'm in high school and like all males are so.. ugh. So even if it's possible, I don't believe that I'll find a BF in HS, that i'll be forever with.

a best friend // group of friends

most high school relationships don`t really last long, but most likely, you`ll be friends with your high school friends for a long time.

Other. Specifically, yourself. In high school, you go through a lot of changes. Your world may just flip over. It's important and would be beneficial if you keep a good relationship with yourself.

Deffinitly friendship is more important... I guess I can't stress that enough, erf... I personally believe that it's so important to have friends in highschool. Things can go wrong in relationships. If the only person you have to fall back on is the person that doesn't want to talk to you anymore, then you may be in a bit of a rough patch. I guess I don't really worry about my relationship, I'm very happy with the sunshine in my life, but I wish she had more friends for when I'm not able to be there console.gif .

This is exactly what happened to me. I was so attached.. Then when he dumbed me I ended up so depressed.. most of my female friends left me saying that I was a slut and then I was kinda all alone. ermm.gif _unsure.gif

Close best friends of the same sex will always be there for you, no matter what. They can support you with any of your problems, and you're almost guaranteed that they can't break up with you the same a boyfriend/girlfriend can.

i think both group of friends and at least one really close friend (i dont think it matters if they're the same sex). because you need lots of support and people to talk to in high school, even if it's just to rant.

Having a real friend that'll be with you through all the troubles and interesting encounters you will face in High School. Whether that person be your boyfriend/girlfriend, or just a very good friend, whatever. But one that'll do that is the best thing you can have.

happy.gif I agree, group of friends because your not going to be with your girlfriend or boyfriend for the rest of your life because you'd get bored of them and friends you can have forever and not get bored of em' mellow.gif But yeah friends are better then a girlfriend/boyfriend in many ways that I will rather not take two years just to list. laugh.gif

I think your group of friends is good to have for support. People who'll stick with you throughout your whole year.

group of friends, i graduated already and my most important relationship wasn't my relationship with my exs. that was just too complicated and eh. but my best group of friends is most important because we're all going to be separating to our own different paths, yea we may get together again which we still do but now we're growing up and best memories are with ur best group of friends not a former ex. high school is about having fun with ur friends. so i'd say group. and not best friends (same sex) because i have more than one best friend and some of them aren't the same sex as me.

Close best friend. A group of friends is good too, but you dont get as close with all of them as you would one best friend. IMO.

Friends are, in my mind, on a higher level than bfs/gfs. You aren't sure that your special someone will always be there for you, but you love your friends & they're there for you. If you break up with that special someone, then you'll still have your friends.

Why's your best friend have to be the same sex. My best friend is a guy, he knows everything about me. I got my heart broken, and he's the one I can call at midnight to talk to. I wouldn't give him up for anything. He is my best friend. I suppose for a lot of girls it would be weird to tell a guy everything about you though, but it's different between us. Most of my friends that I can talk to about things are guys though, I only have one girl like that...And no, I'm not tomboy'ish...I just happen to get along with guys well.
