It's not just fries. KFC and Dunkin' Donuts too.
And umm. Well, it's not banning fries. Just trans fat in restaurants. I think it is a good thing. Cutting down on trans fat will be good for your heart. |

Of course it's a good thing but I doubt its efffects will be anything impressive. Some people just need to practice self-control.

Of course it's a good thing but I doubt its efffects will be anything impressive. Some people just need to practice self-control. Having a great intake of trans fat increases your risk for heart disease, heart attack, stroke, ect. If they actually succeed in banning trans fat in restaurants (especially fast food), everyone will be healthier. |

I think it's a good idea. Fries are unhealthy and loaded with trans fat, and many Americans are at risk for diabetes, heart attacks, etc.

No more chick-filla fries?
I don't agree on some level. It is people's choice to eat this stuff. Although it is in like half the stuff we eat, people have the ability to look at it and be like hey thats not healthy, I won't eat it! |

LOL trina why dont you start being healthy first before you say any absurd comments like that. EY LEtS GO TO DUNKIN DONUTS. OMG. I officially love you. Eh, I guess that'd do us all good. I don't like seeing over-weight people running around in the streets with their fat jiggling. |

Banning partially hydrogenated oils?
wow, that's a huge deal. Almost anything that's packaged has some sort of partially hydrogenated oils. It would be a huge change, but a necessary one. It really is horrible for you. And I'm glad they are finally doing something about it. Trust me, no one is going to miss it, you can easily subsitute with better oils. lol, so it's not banning fries or donuts or anything. But the oils in them... Does this really need to be in Debate? I think I'll move this to News. If a mod wants to move it back to Debate then go aheadl =MOVED TO NEWS= This post has been edited by KissMe2408: Sep 28 2006, 09:30 PM |

Having a great intake of trans fat increases your risk for heart disease, heart attack, stroke, ect. Oh, I understand all that but it shouldn't and doesn't mean that everyone will finally be healthier. This ban may even bring people to continue or increase their consumption of fast food since they might think the food isn't as harmful. Being healthy is so much more than cutting back on trans fat. I doubt it will have any dramatic effects is what I mean.
If they actually succeed in banning trans fat in restaurants (especially fast food), everyone will be healthier. |

QUOTE It's not just fries. KFC and Dunkin' Donuts too. . And umm. Well, it's not banning fries. Just trans fat in restaurants. I think it is a good thing. Cutting down on trans fat will be good for your heart Yep. A lot of people don’t worry much about their health. Taking away food doesn’t teach people anything but it'll lead them to find better food, I hope. About dunkin' donut, I don’t think it should be banned. I think, donuts should be available in the morning only. After that, it should be illegal. Better, right? No more chick-filla fries? I don't agree on some level. It is people's choice to eat this stuff. Although it is in like half the stuff we eat, people have the ability to look at it and be like hey thats not healthy, I won't eat it! If you think that way, illegal drugs should be legal. I mean, people have the choice to take drugs or not. Think about it. Really, I disagree with you. There are a lot of irresponsible people that are screwing the society. We don't need people like that. We need to take away things from them because it won't do much good at all. That's why there are fatasses sue Mcdonald, burger king, and other restaurants. They don't have strong self-control over things they eat. My god … Eh, I rather eat baked potatoes topped w/ cheese, onions, and sauce than fries. |

Yep. A lot of people don’t worry much about their health. Taking away food doesn’t teach people anything but it'll lead them to find better food, I hope. They wouldn't really be taking the food away. Just taking away the unhealthy trans fat. People would still be eating those foods, but at least it'll be healthier. About dunkin' donut, I don’t think it should be banned. I think, donuts should be available in the morning only. After that, it should be illegal. Better, right? With Dunkin' Donuts, it's only specific donuts. And eating donuts in the morning isn't exactly healthy.. High sugar intake in the morning = Hyperness. I think trans fat should at least be lowered in fatty foods. You don't necessarily have to ban it. |

People eat it ... almost every week. dunkin's donuts isn’t healthy. That’s true. Hm, i have nothing against that. i agree with you. we are always eating/drinking sugar from milk, pasta, rice, soda, and etc. Donut is the worst, i believe. it's full of sugar. You know ... I don’t ever get hyper from food. Sugar doesn’t work me. |

Do you think it's still safe to eat fries after all? People eat it ... almost every week. Maybe not fries from a fastfood restaurant, but maybe fries from a regular restaurant. I think they're more healthy. And not just every week. I know some people who eat it like everyday! I believe that it's safe to eat fries. Just maybe every once in a while. dunkin's donuts isn’t healthy. That’s true. Trans fat can increase your chances for heart failure, heart disease, stroke, ect. |

Dear Mods, stop switching back to News, Debate, then News. Originally, this was created in debate.
Maybe not fries from a fastfood restaurant, but maybe fries from a regular restaurant. I think they're more healthy. And not just every week. I know some people who eat it like everyday! I believe that it's safe to eat fries. Just maybe every once in a while. I believe that trans fat is worse than sugar. Sugar causes diabetes. Trans fat can increase your chances for heart failure, heart disease, stroke, ect. i didnt know trans fat is bad for your heart. usually, i eat ANYTHING due to high metabolism. |
