I think the movie that creeped me out the most was House on Haunted Hill. The doctor shaking violently just creeped the hell out of me.

Oh yea! That was my favorite part of that movie was when he violently came up to the security camera, great stuff.

Even though it didn't scare me, I enjoyed "Amityville Horror". I haven't seen the original, but just the fact that it's based on a true story is amazing to me.

Oh man. I can't do scary movies at all. I have a way active imagination that I end up just thinking something is going to kill me.

But I did watch House of Wax and I was practically laughing my butt off during that. It wasn't scary. Just a guy with a wax face with holes as eyes running around with a knife. Peoples fascinations with wax. Kinda freaky.

Best part though was when Paris Hilton died, though.

IT scared the shit out of me! I really want to see The Descent. But so far my fave scary movies are:

The Birds (haha when I first saw it...I was scared. pinch.gif )
The Exorcist (Unrated edition)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the newer one, I can't wait to see the sequel...)
Salem's Lot
Saw I & II

"It"? The Tim Curry version that was made for tv years ago? If so, yeah, I'm on board with that. But Tim Curry freaks me out period, in a way. As do clowns.

I don't know if it was because of my mood, or that I had a little wine that evening but 28 Days Later scared me.

1. This thread is about your favorite horror film, not about the scariest horror films you have seen.
2. You listed It, Child's Play, and The Excorcism of Emily Rose. Not particularly scary or good.
3. The American remake of Ringu, I would have to say, is quite a bit scarier than the japanese original (not to say that either were really that scary, it's just the original was sedated) - a better movie too (as if Ringu was good anyways).
4. Granted with The Grudge. Ju-on was creepy. The Grudge remake was a joke.

Pfffffffffffffffffft. whistling.gif

Oh, just thought of these to add to the list:

Black Christmas.
Bad Taste.
The Brood.
The Haunting.
A Tale of Two Sisters.

Man, horror movies just flat our freak me out, no matter how scary people think it is.
The best one I liked would be any of the Scary Movies. laugh.gif Hehehe. First off, because they aren't scary at all (well duh), but I found some contents in their movies scary. And they are somewhat retardly funny.

It's not really a true story... it's based more on a legend.

I drive past Amityville in Long Island whenever I visit my aunt... it's interesting.

The Grudge scared the crap out of me.

Heh... Fear.com was freaky and weird ... I made my friend sit on me while we watched.

"Strange and tragic events were happening in the Amityville Home long before the Lutz's moved in. Prior to the Lutz's purchase of the house, Ronald Defeo Jr. tragically murdered his entire family, while they slept peacefully in their beds on the night of November 13, 1974. Armed with a .35 Caliber Marlin rifle, Defeo Jr. moved from room to room... eight shots fired in all. Later, Defeo Jr. would make varying statements to officials; the mob did it. His sister did it. Then he said he did it in self-defense.

At one point, after confessing to the murders, he claimed to have heard voices telling him to commit the murders. He also claimed to have seen dark shadowy figures moving about he house, and talked about how a pair of dark, black hands handed him the rifle that night."

I was talking more about that part rather then the George Lutz part that was portrayed in the movie. wink.gif

Hey... what's the name of the movie where the girl's babysitting in this gigantic house and a stranger calls her. It's like... The Call or When a Stranger Calls or Call from a Stranger? Something like that.

The original was kind of scary.

When a Stranger Calls.

Pffffffffft.

The original and the remake both are pretty lame.
And, the original is just a rip-off of a much better film called Black Christmas.
