We decided to eliminate Aggie. Along with the other people who withdrew: Julie and Jackie

The theme is Broadway. Contestants must sing a song from a broadway musical. _smile.gif

Rules:
  • One submission per person, per round.
  • Submissions should be at least 1 minute long.
  • No major editing of the voice recording.
  • Please, use only your own voice. No background vocals or harmonizing.
    No lip synching.
  • In future rounds, you will not be able to use a recording you used in a past round.
  • If you didn't try out a few weeks earlier in the preliminaries, you are not allowed to participate. I've been getting PMs of people submitting entries that didn't even try out in the preliminaries, and I'm sorry but it's way too late.

^ You actually did a Broadway song when you sang "Maybe." (Annie was on Broadway long before Disney had anything to do with the show)

This is a great category (and one I was really looking forward to).

Oh this is exciting. But I have a question. are you guys looking for the typical Idol twist of making it sound more modern, or are we actually expected to do this in a broadway style? because I have a really great broadway voice but I don't wanna turn it in when everyone else is making it r&b or pop or something you know??

We prefer you turn in something that represents the best of you/your talent/best abilities. And the theme is broadway so you can choose a song from real broadways. Mama mia, wicked, Cats, Chicago, Moving Out (yes billy joel), Hair Spray, Rent, etc. We don't expect anything from you except to submit something that has to do with the theme we chose. We're nto forcing you or encouraging you to sound mordern, neither are we discouraging it. Same with doing broadway style.

but it was premered as a broadway in NYC. I'd still consider it broadway despite the style/genre it's sang in. Look at Mama Mia, its songs are all 70's pop..or whatever, but it's still broadway

Phantom of the Opera was never an opera. It's a London-based musical BASED on an opera... and it eventually became the longest running BROADWAY show in NYC. It's actually still playing.

It's so good... I've seen it twice.

The movie sucks though.
