So for all those have read this Greek tragedy, I'd like to ask whether you believe Antigone is the tragic hero in the play. If not, then I'm sure you believe it to be Creon. I have a feeling our in-class essay in English will be on this tomorrow, so I'd like to generate thoughts and ideas. XD.gif I personally think that the tragic hero is Creon, although he never struck me as a genuinely good person to begin with. Then again, tragic heros don't need to be. shrug.gif Also, Antigone is barely in the entire play.

Yeah my English class is now reading this. It sounds pretty boring to me but ohh well.. I think the fact that Antigone doesn't appear through most of the play reflects on the level of immagination used in Greek playwriting...call me stupid but this tragedy doesn't seem to do anything. blink.gif

Dude, I remember this discussion last year!

Creon is definitely the tragic hero.
His flaws of ignorance brought him to his suffering.
But then, the definition of a tragic hero also includes someone noble and wise, which doesn't fit Creon's character. So I don't know.
