My true goal on this thread is to get people to understand the facts of Islam/Muslim religion. That everything that is fed to you, rather it be a teacher, the media, heck even a pastor/priest sometimes isn't gonna be true.

I was in a thread where a specific member was degrading Islam, it showed me that he/she was not informed about Islam. So I wanted to quickly make a thread with nothing BUT "facts".

No no no! He is trying to convert people! Just look at his links! Read some of them. They are blatant proselytizing. Several articles are dedicated to "Judgement Day" and describe how unbelievers will suffer and believers will be rewarded by God.

An article called "The Reality of this Life" appeals to our emotions to accept God and damns nonbelievers.

Without correct faith, deeds are worthless, and are of no benefit. God neither needs nor benefits from deeds. In fact, He is the One Who sustains all His creations, not people who think they are helping them out of their compassion. It's actually God Who benefits the doers of good deeds by permitting them to deliver His allotted sustenance at any given time, for if they disdain, He will deliver it through other means and then THEY may gain merit through it, provided they have faith and correct intentions.

God reveals Truth first and foremost for the very straightforward reason that when you die, He is going to judge you by that standard.

If you rejected that standard, and knowingly did not conform to it, you will have destroyed yourself by your own hands. Everything you believe, intend, say, and do, will be accounted by God according to what He has revealed and made obligatory for you to act upon and to which you should organize your value system.

In fact, God stresses that His proofs and evidences are so overwhelmingly abundant and straightforward, that to deny them constitutes the worst crime a human being can commit, resulting in eternal Punishment, that is, Hell-fire.

Not trying to convert us? Not proselytizing?! Uhhhhhmmm.

That's what I did, I went to a Mosque and explained my interest in Islam to the sheikh (Islamic priest), he had me set a date with him so I could have a one on one "interview"... Any question I asked (specially about terrorism with no disrespect) he answered without using apologetics.

Unfortunately, the modern Westernized world is sort of corrupting Muslims in the Western part of the world.

I used to drink alcohol but got sick of it.. literally, I can't drink even a bottle of beer or I'll gag. Back when I was in highschool I used to "chug" 32oz. bottles (4 of them in a matter of 2 hours) of Old English beer.

I used to smoke cigarettes, but one day I didn't have the craving for them... normally when I would wake up, I would smoke my last cigarette and go straight to the store to buy another pack for the rest of the day (I used to smoke a pack a day)

So yeah... there's these fake Muslims who believe in some sort of "Neo-Islam" belief where they believe it's ok to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, fornicate before marriage etc...

The reason why alcohol is frowned upon in Islam, is because it alters your perception.

I'm Sunni, if any bending of rules... it would be that last year I did not celebrate Ramadan because I was in Italy at the time and I forgot to bring my Qur'an. On top of that I could not find a Mosque no where near town.

Unfortunately my family in Italy would never understand why I chose Islam. I had to stay at a hotel which didn't have its own kitchen. So I couldn't eat the certain foods that were allowed.

On top of that I was on a business contract, I can't just stop in the middle of my job, drop down to my knees and pray for an hour.

I believe your religious activities and knowledge of religion should be kept to yourself and not exposed in the business world.

The difference between other belief systems is that I don't think the founder of other religions married young girls. I don't think Abraham did. I don't think Jesus did. I don't think Siddharta Gautama did.

As to why they have distinct beliefs, I already answered that with a link to get the full understanding. There's no possible way of summing up the differences between the two.

They don't use religious politics per say, because in Islam, there is no religious politics. Everyone follows the Qur'an and understand the consequences.

A great man we had. Unfortunately he never had the chance to explain himself for his racist political views. I never found a good enough explanation. So while he helped many of his people, he was still racist in my book.

Yep... they think Islam's God is some pagan "Moon" God (because the symbolism of Islam is the half moon). And in reality it's the same God as Judaism and pre-Christianity's God (prior to the Trinity).
