How would everyone love to have a Interest subforum called Traveling.
Or something like that, anyone else that has a better name can say it

Traveling - people can ask how places are and their opinion of places and where their going, just for anyone that loves traveling.

It's a nice suggestion but I don't know if it should have its own forum. Any topics relating to travel remain in the Lounge and we don't have many travel-related topics in there anyway. Hmm.

that'd be awesome.
my parents love travelling, and of course, i go with them on all their trips, so it'd be cool to talk about different vacation spots and such - and to hear about other peoples' travels as well. (=

I'm not at all against this, if anything it might add more culture here. I'm interested to see what type of responses this idea gets.

yea I love traveling. happy.gif
its so nice and so many places are prettyy.

And I would love to hear about others adventures and it would give me a opinion of places and if they were good enough to go travel and see if anyone else has been to places before I have to go to them happy.gif

Ah, man I love traveling.
I really wouldn't mind if there was a sub-forum on it, though we def don't NEED one, but it still is a nice thought.
I would def spend a lot of time in there as well.

I guess the people who post pictures from their vacations in Italy and stuff would post them in travel then? instead of pictures...
and talk about where they went and such?

It'd be interesting. I def wouldn't mind.

100% support.

i'm sure, mostly everyone had travel. It doesnt have to be out of state, or out of country.

it could be about ... traveling in your own community, discovering places, and favorite parts of your city.

I love hearing people's stories. It's like campfire at the desert<3

Ah yes. It would be a nice forum - I'd be there a lot.

The thought of adding another subforum in Interests honestly makes me hestitant a little bit. As nice it sounds there isn't a whole lot of topics I've seen related to the subject and if there are they are mostly posted during the summer and holidays. I don't know, like Katie said we don't neccessarily NEED one, but then again some could agrue we don't neccesarily need some of those subforums.

Then, it's like ... we dont need current event, food, and art.

current event and food can go to the Lounge.
art can go Picture.

i really dont see what's wrong with Travel. It would be interesting. this forum could possibly trigger members to talk about their life, trip, vacation, and etc. Since it's summer, more people will talk about their trip. (probably)

So, why not give a try? _smile.gif

I'm going to pull a James and ask that if this is made, can it be Travel? I mean, Anime, Sandbox, Art, they're all nouns...

And people could post their pictures of their vacay and the rest go in pictures.

I love hearing about peoples traveling expierences, and yes I think pictures of peoples vacations could go in there and they could explain the pictures and what happens there and stuff like Katie said. Current Events, I still don't see why we got that back, since it did keep the lounge a little more active. I remember Micheal use to always bring up stuff like that in the lounge and it got a lot of responses.

Also the art forum, it kind of confused me making that forum. Since we have graphics and then pictures..

by all the interest, there isn't many pages. Not over 30 except perhaps in the Sandbox.

Could always just give it a try and if no one likes it, which I'm sure there could possibly be some. Then we can take it down if its fine with people as well.

Perhaps instead of making it looks like we have a million interest we need to bring up the whole interest organization thing. So it can get better organized...

Current Events? Why we brought that back? Are you serious? huh.gif I agree with you on the Art subforum, though. It's really inactive.. and I say people should go to Graphics for that if they really want to. I mean even artwork can be considered a graphic.. sort of. XD.gif It's just that by making this, you're taking away something from Pictures, in which case, it's getting less and less active each day.

Well, since the Art forum is a bit slow and the idea of a Travel forum has been presented, why not have a "Life and Culture" type of forum? Posts about artists, traveling and what not could go there. You could even go as far as adding Food type posts there.

Just a thought.

That's a really nice idea. But the thing with having a Life and Culture forum is that so many things could fit under there (meaning forums we already have on cB): art, travel, food, possibly entertainment. If we were to do something like this, I think it would be better to look at a whole different organization for the Community Center.

^then why can't we do that?
We've had a forum for the whole interest re-organization.
I think a lot of the suggestions in that were really good.

We could. The hard part is getting one forum outline that is suitable and won't cause confusion. (here and here) If cB4 isn't that far away, then perhaps. Re-organizing all of the Community Center is a big deal, not to mention a lot of work.

Yea, I understand completely.
Do you ever know when Cb 4 is on its way?

I think sometime or another we do need to organize things a little better. I don't see anything wrong with the forum, just the subforums. And aparently others have as well..

I think we should just wait til' cB 4 comes around because then it may be a little easier to do it all at once instead of do it now and cause a lot of confusion.

I remember when cB 3 came around and it took a lot of getting use to. pinch.gif

lol. someone said they agreed with me, and i hadn't even posted. i AM good!

Yea, PLEASE not another subforum... I know that we could sit and squabble about whether or not we 'need' every subforum that we have, and use them as an excuse to add more ('we have food, so why not travel', and so forth), but at some point, we have to say 'enough is enough'. there isnt a huge demand for this forum in terms of existing threads which could be moved there, and interests is already so large.

If it were a question of incorporating it as part of a larger overhaul (cb4) then that would be a different matter. But we cant keep on adding to interests, or it becomes harder an harder to justify rejecting new ideas, and it could spin out of control. so no.

Make this specific change?

Don't think so... perhaps when cB4 is out, traveling can be incorporated somehow.

Nah I think the only way it may actually be made is if we follow up with Rebecca's idea perhaps. Her idea sounded great the whole culture thing and it could combine a few of the subforums.

-shrugs- Like Mona said maybe when CB4 is out.

Well I remember when cB3 came out i couldn't get on createblog for about a day or two, so perhaps that long. pinch.gif

Steven, it isnt HARD to create a new forum, we just dont want to, because interests is already so cluttered. thus, the proposal was made to leave it until a larger revamp, when it could be placed somewhere that doesnt add to the clutter.
