I don't really know what you mean. Even if I did... I don't think I'd help you.

Sean, chill. Breathe.
What type of website are you wanting to make? Personal? Are you wanting ideas for the layout? Tell us what you've got so far. |

lol i'm just kidding around.
whenever i call someone a fag, it doesn't mean anything. anyways, my friends and I are thinking of making a website, that will bloom like google or createblog. then we'll get rich. We want a web 2.0 kind of site. Something users submit and we just maintain. And we don't care about the layout yet. |

It's probably best to start with an idea and work from there, rather than starting with "I want a Web 2.0 site" and "I want to topple Google."
Oh well, that's capitalism though... |

Web 2.0 doesn't necessarily mean user-submitted, but a lot of web 2.0 sites are revolving around users submitting news stories; for example, digg, newsvine, slashdot. I wouldn't recommend starting yet ANOTHER one of these websites, but that's what's successful right now.
Mm. As Michael said, you sort of need a basis for wanting to start a website before actually creating one. |

Not that you should be staring at other people's work to get your own, as you'd end up copying theirs', but there are an amazing amount of websites dedicated to showcasing good, standards happy, webdesigns.
Stylegala Screenspire Cssmania CSS reboot once again.. the idea of these sites is to showcase good design, not to give you good ideas to carbon copy and claim as your own... on another note.... you're rude. |
