I met this guy over the summer at a camp and we liked each other a lot. During the last week, we hooked up. We didn't really say anything about it or anything, and now that camp's ended, we're stuck on opposite sides of the country. I miss him so much & it hurts so bad because I know we liked each other and the only reason be didn't become bf/gf was cause summer flings never end up that way. But now, I don't know whether I should keep in contact with him (call, email) or just try to forget him and give up. What works better to get over a guy you're never going to see for the rest of your life? I want to call him. To hear his voice and maybe just stay in constant contact even if I won't actually see him. But I want to forget about him also. I am hurting so bad right now =(

Well. You could keep in contact but if you ever want to move on in life then just forget about him I guess. If you could stay in contact but still like other people then it'll be better for you. In the end you have to decide though.

Well.. I would wait and see if another guy comes along. If a guy doesn't come along, I would email that guy instead of calling. It would be too weird.

If you really liked him (and he felt the same), why not try to make it happen? Long-distance relationships can work.

I agree with hardxcoreLOVER. I don't think you should just call him out of the blue it would be really awkward.

But the longer she waits to not call him.. the more awkward it's going to be when she does call him, no? And besides, how would it even be awkward? huh.gif

True.^

If they don't really talk then any call would be out of the blue. Long distance relationships can technically work but don't keep your aims too high. Sometimes it leads to disasters but it could work. If you are willing to try go for it.

my advice:

try calling him - ask him hows he been, etc.
just start a conv. - i'll help

i know how you feel i was dating this guy all throughout since v-day till our grad night. we broke up because he thought it wouldn't last, and eventually we'll drift apart...
but it's ok, let time heal the pain.

trust me you'll never forget your first summer love, i know i wouldn't :)
good luck!!
