Judge other girls, why do we do it? Options

All girls judged other girls before they actually talk to them or when someone wears something new right, but just why and how many have you judged? Do you consider it wrong?

we ALL judge people, it's like something we do unconciously.
sometimes judging somebody based on their appearance is wrong... but sometimes it can save your life, if the person ends up being BAD.
but yeah, judging solely on appearance isn't nice... but i'm friends with everyone.

Save your life? Isn't that a bit of exaggeration? Hrm. I agree that it's natural, but I believe that it's worse with girls. I think it's because we get jealous very easily and that sometimes we feel threatened by others. I've usually found myself on the other end of the said perspective, though, so I really don't know what it's like.

Also it could be that we're insecure...and ya, it is natural... but, I don't think its a good thing that can save your life. I think that only way to judge someone right would be to actually talk to them and get to know them... then make your judgement

I judged preppy girls, too. Before I even talked to them, I would think of them as sluts are firktards. So, when I did talk to them I would be mean because I thought they were going to be mean to me first. And because I acted mean towards them, they acted mean towards me.

But I think that all kind of ended after a while. I know I don't dispise them anymore after looking at their MySpaces and seeing they're just as crazy as me and some of my friends. So, now when we have to speak to each other it's not all snippy and sarcastic.

Of course I judge people. It's more on a superficial level, though. More like:

"Oh my God, did you see so-and-so's skirt today? It was SO flashy and disgusting. She must have awful taste in clothes."

But I'd never say something like:

yeah i think its wrong only because i dont want people to judge me, yet i judge them. i've judged a girl and said she was fake and someone who knows her well said "if it's anything she's not, it has to be fake." i could be wrong about her, but she doesnt really like me i dont think, so that gives her a reason to be fake, yeah? confusing. whatever, dont care for her.

I don't think it's morally wrong, because I know that I've done it many times before.
I've been right once, and ONLY once, though - my cousin & I were going to a bakery shop and before we got out of the car, I noticed these 2 girls about my age walking to the shop, and I thought to myself, 'Ew, what beezies'.
Lo and behold, when we got into the bakery shop, those two girls started talking shit about my older cousin& when one girl pointed out that we had similar shorts on, the other girl was all 'BITCH' out loud.

It's not wrong, it's just a normal reaction we do. Comparing others to ourself. Sometimes I do it without even realizing I am doing it . It's not just us girls who judge people. Boys do it too, honestly just about everyone does it. Maybe we do it because it makes us feel better about ourself, who knows .
