I dont understand why people keep on text messaging me, when they can just call me. I mean they're are special circumstances, like when you are in school or whatever. I mean are people afraid to talk to me or something. Could that be the reason? Or maybe Im just weird. But text messaging annoys me because you cant really express yourself. This whole week my phone has been filled with texts. Asking stuff like: "How are you?", "Do you want to go to Marine World on Sat.?", "Hows your summer?" and other non-important stuff. And its taking up the memory on my phone. But isnt just calling someone easier than texting? What do you think about it?

Yea, that's true. But I guess some people prefer the unfamiliarity of text messaging. It makes things easy for a lazy person. _dry.gif

I don't like text messaging because if you actually want to say something, you'd have to send like 20 texts, which gets to be expensive, so in the end it's pointless.

I hate texting while I'm not in class. I think it's pointless. PLUS it costs a lot. My phone bill went through the roof last month because of those damn text messages. stubborn.gif

Verizon texting was recently just raised to 10 cents to recieve & send text messages. We got a new plan yesterday, (yeaaaah upgraded phones!) and now I get the plan for $2.99 for 100 texts (to both recieve & send). I like text messaging, because if you don't want to waste minutes, you can just text them. Like for example, I dunno about anyone else.. but I have Verizon is my phone provider. If your only on the phone for 35 seconds.. that still counts up to 1 minute. And if your on the phone for 1:01 minutes it automatically goes up to 2 minutes. I would rather send a text message then waste those kinda minutes. I don't wanna take my sister or dads minutes up either, for a pointless phone call.

[/end rambling]

In certain situations it's okay. But like if you're walking around your neighborhood punching little letters all the time...that's different. Just call the person dammit!

Yes-it's very annoying. One of my friends LOVES to text message me from her prep class. Stupid me replies back (my fingers are soar by the time I'm done) and then the bill comes. Total. Panick.
Just thought I'd share my story and point out the evils of text messaging.

Sometimes if you have something important to say and it's too short for a small phone call, it's really useful.

Or if you missed a call and received a text instead. Perfect.

Texting could be fun sometimes. To me anyway :>.

Text messaging is a lot more expensive comparing to actually calling someone.

Sometimes if I'm not sure if I should call someone, I send him/her a text message instead.

AHH I hate Text messaging, My friend sends me about 10 messages a DAY! thank goodness that i get free texting or my phone bill would be over $300, But the good thing about text messages is that if they send you a message you have the choice to respond or not, so for the people that I might not like to talk to, I just ignore them +D

I agree.........
texting is FUN
i do the same thing.....
I don't really like phone calls, unless there is something important to talk about....
but, i think that if you are calling someone just to ask if they can hang out or something, it is much easier to text the person and ask, coz the phone conversation would be soooo short, and a major waste of minutes... but, then again, texting is just as costly.......whistling.gif .

Well you see, here's the thing: when a kid has no one to talk to, he or she naturally looks on his/her cell and textmessages people cause they, you know, wanna look like they're cool- like, they're not talking to anybody else because they're too busy talking to other people on their cell. Yeah. Horrible pronoun grammer there, but it's okay.

I agree, having long conversations using text messaging can get REALLY annoying, it can strain your eyes, but when you have a short simple sentence that is really important then it wouldnt be that bad. But I really dont like text messaging period. I'd rather chat online or just talk on the phone.

It's not really annoying because some people don't really feel like talking and people that just had surgery getting wisdom teeth can't talk to text messaging is really convenient. I just hate when people text me when I'm on the phone with them or when they're three feet away from me. Unless we're mad at each other then it depends. I like text messaging. Just don't text back or get it turned off.

I like it. For simple things it's really good, like 'Can you hang out tonight?" or "What time do you get off work?". Things like that I use it for, never pointless things like "How Are You". Haha, sometimes I text during class though, I just started that at the end of last year when I was so bored with school. I think I'll be doing that a lot more.. hehe.

i guess its people who wants to have someone to talk to but not a 'close conversation' who does texting... from my experience
my frd texts all the time.. with girls that is
so perhaps they dont want to be seen talking on the phone to them or else ppl would say they're dating
thats why they text (i think)

i like msn/aol/icq more =)

I hate texting on my phone. I changed the settings so now nobody can text me. Hahaha. I mean...it destroys the purpose of the cell phone. If you want to text me, text me on your friggin computer. See, phones are used to call people.

Yeah, it is annoying. My friends used to test message me alot kus she had that verison in thingy where you have like 50 free tests to other companys. Plus my bill for text messaging shot up the roof.

i think calling costs more than text messaging. especially when it`s not free hours or something like that. i`d just tell people to stop texting me.

Text messaging. Good or bad?

I think its awesome, but alot of adults I know frown upon it, or find it pointless.

I spend a lot of money texting...but it's my mom's money, so it's up to her to get a plan thing. I think it's pointless when you can actually be on AIM or something; AIM is faster. But when you're out, it's a good way to communicate with people that are on AIM at home or can't talk or be loud.

i love to text people randomly.
especially because i have unlimited and i only pay $5 extra for it a month, opposed to the hundreds i would pay.

i think it's better than like talking on the phone. but that's 'cause i pay a lot in overages a month. and so when i run out of minutes, i text.

I like texting. Sometimes when you can't actually talk on the phone, you can text instead. Besides, it's a great way to tell someone something when you don't feel like calling them.

I'm quick at texting. Pretty damn quick. And its unlimited. Thank you Revol. (www.revol.us)

My cell # is on my signature if anyone ever wants to text me. :)

Call if you wish, as well. I love getting random texts/calls at 2:30 A.M.

I use it at work, since I don't like to talk on the phone while I'm at the office, but that's about the only time I use it. Although it's handy if you're at a party and it's really, really loud.

Personally i love texting. its a easier way to getting information out without having to call them because you dont know if their gonna pick up or not, but they will always be able to read the text!

haha, text messaging annoys me. Its so time consuming than just calling the person and talking to them. Pressing all the keys and crap gets nerve racking.

So my dad just got it so we can't recieve them in our plan, which was just fine by me.
