I recently took a look at my own member profile to notice that I've actually submitted about eighteen layouts (I was shocked, trust me). It's hilarious because I look back at my earliest ones (which were made pre-PhotoShop/Paint) and wow.. I'm certainly not a fabulous designer now, but it's interesting to see how far I've come. It's also fun to look back at ancient posts now and then to see how your ideas have changed and how you've grown as a person. I mean, it's been over two years for me, but people change even in a year.

Edit // I want this to be strictly about cB, and how you've noticed a change in yourself through the forums, whether it's with graphics/layouts or posts.

Oh, I've defanitely changed alot since I first joined cb. I remember the days where I would post 5 times in a row, and the mods would have to pm me and tell me to stop. I also remember how I couldn't make a decent topic for the life of me. Seriously, about 90% of my topics always ended up getting closed. I regret the way I acted back then.

I miss Jackie. And Evey. And Kim Sr. and Kim Jr. and Nick and everybody and having phone parties and talking to everyone while I was in Nevada...hmmm let's find some old layouts of mine...

http://www.createblog.com/layouts/download.php?id=924
Everybody ever used that layout...I still see it on peoples' Xangas and I'm like, "OMG MY LAYOUT HOW COOL!!!"

http://www.createblog.com/layouts/download.php?id=676
I went through such a blend phase...mmmm Gregory...

http://www.createblog.com/layouts/download.php?id=635
That one's kind of neat...

I wish I still had all of my layouts from my subdomain. Man. I lost everything...:(

Haha well I'm sorry if I'm an intruder into all these sad (and good?) memories, but maybe sometimes it's better to have been on cB for a bit longer than some of us. I mean I, for example, feel that sometimes I am a little behind because I just arrived at cB with all the inside jokes and so on. Maybe reliving some of the bad memories may not be a great idea, but I'm sure there are plenty of good memories as well.

I, for one, are jealous that you've all managed to maintain your various cB friendships for years! :]

Sorry for intruding, I joined only a month ago and I realise it doesnt make me a cB veteran quite yet..;D

I think the weird thing is, I didn't change THAT much. I have really changed outside the forums, but not the way I type or generally view life. The one thing that changed a lot was, I was sooo much more helpful and nice. Incidentally, I was viewing the first two pages of my posts and then I saw this thread. Most of the posts were in xanga help, back when I was the "expert" in xanga. I was so much nicer...to the point where it did seem kind of fake, but I was (and still am) still just being what I normally was.

And I was in eighth grade too O_o. That strikes me as surprising because I'm about to be a junior.

Oh and I was into the whole Blogring vs. Xangans thing, and I didn't really ever bash on blogring. I was trying to be neutral. And I kept on posting in February Xanga of the Month but I couldn't decide so I kept on just complimenting xanga sites. I think if it was the cB now, there would be a thread for discussion and a thread for voting.

Also I loved going to forum games. The idea of sandbox isn't so appealing to me anymore though. But that's how Jordan (Inc) and Ashley (azn kyootie) met and then...I met ashley so I knew Jordan and they were both cool and I loved talking to them.

And for layouts, I have only submitted two and only one got accepted. It's funny because the one that got denied was actually the one I liked more. That's why I never submitted the xanga layout I have now, which has been there for over a year. If anyone remembers that cool cool cool blend I made (really it's a cool blend), that's the one I made into a layout. Anyway, that xanga layout was called "transportation" and that was when I was kind of cool with everyone. So I posted my accepted layout in chat and everyone was like "sharie it's so cool I love it so much!" and blahblahblah.

Geez this makes me think of a lot of things I have had here. Which was a lot. It's about 3 months and it's my three year anniversary here. Pretty cool. Sometimes I wonder why and how I still come back here after three years.

wink.gif You'll get there. And welcome to CB.

Haha, thanks? :]
..I'm hoping I'll understand everything and everyone soon.
I won't bombard you with worthless newbie questions just here, my little 'intro' page is for all my anxious questions, I'll think I'll retreat there, haha...

Meanwhile, feel free to laugh at my rather...pompous (to say the least? lol) speech up there and I'll be leaving then. Have a great time...reliving old cB memories. :]]

I haven't actually submitted any layouts here because I'm horrible with myspace/xanga coding. I prefer to do it all myself from scratch.

My very first post on cB was on Feb 4 2006. Apparently I took a long break from Feb 23 to July 29. Though I can't define my improvements inside of createblog, I can define my improvements along the times I've been a part of cB by outside projects I've done.

Arcadia
Around Feb 4th, I created a web site with a friend. I have created many others around that time, however, this is the only layout that I can take 100% credit for. This web site is called Arcadia. The layout was made in Photoshop 7. When I look at it now, I see how simple it is. Simple can sometimes work, but it's just a slob of colors and artistic cliche's.

Elysium
Then I moved on to Elysium with another friend. The site never actually went anywhere, but there was some content because I have a folder full of avatars that I remember putting up for Elysium. Again, it's too simple. I was more focused on softness than actual viewing pleasure. It's just too simple. Anyone could make something like this.

Eternalyfe
And then came Eternalyfe - my personal blog site which is actually on hiatus right now. I kept right along with the simplicity. I'm already bored of it. Plain white content boxes, easy to make. Bored.

And so I took a break, just kind of admired from afar. I was going through a graphic meltdown. I couldn't make anything that looked like I had actual talent. So I came back to Createblog to look around at some sites - see the new styles, take some pointers. (This was a bit before the opening of Unspoken - maybe 2-3 months ago.) I was itching to make another graphics site. Createblog inspired this. When a friend asked me to make one with her, I nearly died. It had been so long since I'd made a site with a friend, and none of us had touched PS for about 3 months. So it was time to start cracking the whip.

Unspoken Studios
So that's where the existence of U.S. came about. My graphics improved a TON. I'd still like to improve more, because I notice a lot of similar styles that I use and would like to stray away from similar layouts. But through Createblog, I can trace where my graphics have been.

As for my typing - nothing's changed. I never used "ong!!11" and "lawl" or anything like that. It's probably because I'm a 1/2 writer. (Meaning that I've written many stories, but never got them published.) So yeah. There's my cB history for you, in essay form. Haha.

i hate dwelling on the past. i mean, who cares if you were noob back then.

i've been here for 2 years and a month, but i took breaks in between. i came back and now it's just kind of like there's nothing to really post in anymore. but we're not talking about cb, we're talking about me. so i guess i have changed a lot. i used to be really annoying but not on purpose, but now i don't even care if i'm annoying anymore. i remeber the old chat rooms though... that was nice

Haha I just looked at my first member pictures post and it was my awkward goth stage. Hahahaha...

But I think I have changed a lot. When I was a newbie, I was a total suck up, not going to lie about that. I'm not quite a immature as I used to be either but other than that personality wise I haven't.

Graphic wise I have though. I have gone through stages, first it was single pictures with slight effects, then it was blended movies, then it was vector outlines then it was places, then it was vectors now it's more collages. Haha it made me laugh.

HAHAH! MY FIRST LAYOUT!!

Ok it's ok. I remember when I first started cB! I felt the same way. Welcome!
