Most of the time, I barely understand your vocabulary. No kidding.
For example; bad ass (is that good or bad). Or Ill. There are so many and sometimes I feel left out. James understands because he lived in the US but I've never been there. I speak plain English. There's nothing you can do but I find it sad. Why isn't there one type of English? Why is there Australian English, South African English, American English, Canadian English, British English and all those? I think it's sad. I understand those Englishes? But I hardly get you Americans! |

It's not really American English, it's just slang, like in different countries.
For example, Cantonese is hard to learn because it has a LOT of slang like "American English." |

^ SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT? LMFAO. Ahah. I know what you're talking about with the 'badass' stuff. Well, I pretty much don't get it when people use 'bad' or 'sick' or 'wicked' as a positive adjective. And which is correct if you're trying ? "You don't know shit about politics" or "You know shit about politics". Because the former would be a compliment and the latter would be an insult, but ordinarily it's the other way around. And I absolutely hate the phrase "I could care less" when they're trying to express that they don't care. That doesn't make sense. It would be "I couldn't care less" because nothing is more uninteresting than what this person is saying. |

I know, man.. I remember when I first came to Canada. Well, here it's considered American English.. But the little English I had studied was British English.
So one girl asked me where I lived, and I was just like, "Oh in a flat in the red building".. hahaha.. |

It would be "I couldn't care less" because nothing is more uninteresting than what this person is saying. Haha, YES. I HATE that. It always baffles me. I always say "I couldn't care less." I feel the same way about British slang. Some of their slang is just strange to me. It sounds so... I don't know. In WWII Americans were like "GET THE F*** DOWN! KILL THOSE SONS OF B**CHES! SHOOT THAT MUTHER F**KER UP! BLOW JERRY'S ASS OFF!" and the British were like "TALLY-HO MATES! GET SOME PEPPA ON THOSE JERRYS! THOSE DOGGO'S SHALL BLOODY DIE IN A BLOODY INSTANT!" Sorry, I love WWII and I can get a lot of slang reference out of it, haha. |
