You dont have to sit back.

You can just ... stay in the water and splash water

they're fun as always.

well, how much do you trust your friends? ermm.gif you could just wade in the water. it's very easy to float, though. just lay on your back.

I took swimming lessons when I was a little kid, so that helped.

And surely in the pool there's an area where you won't be completely underwater and can stand above the surface of the water. Try hanging out around the shallow end of the pool. If not, then just try your best to learn from your friends.

Your friends wouldn't let you drown, right?

haha.
don't be scared, if there true friends they'll help.
float on your back like krista said.
i learned how to swim in a rather odd way.
my family went fishing about 1/2 mile away from shore
so, they threw me off the boat along with some cousins
and told me to kick my legs and move my arms if not i'll drown.
twas pretty traumatic but it worked hahaha.

Bring a lifesaver, a floating arm thingies, kickboard.

I would recommend kickboard because you can learn swimming from it.
