okay, so i did track last year & i was a sprinter. i'm not planning to do track next year, so i don't care if i lose my muscles.. as long as i could get slimmer looking legs. honestly, i have horrible thick legs. even my mom agrees. & i was much skinnier before track. i run, work out, & carefully watch my diet...but i still can't lose any weight/get any skinnier. can anyone PLEASE give me advice?

there's not really much you can do... but it doesn't really matter. i'd rather have big bulky muscular legs than little sticks that can't do anything.

having huge muscles in your legs is a good thing, it means you're healthy. you don't have to be skin 'n' bones in order to be beautiful. in fact, bigger legs are more beautiful than bones, skin, and maybe a little muscle/fat/flesh.

Hrm. Sucks for you, doesn't it? Mmm to be honest, I have no optimistic input here. Just wanted to point out the obvious.

you sound much like this girl at my school. she does tons of sports and has legs like yours too. she hates it and always talks about getting a muscle reduction when shes 18.

Excercises like Pilates and Yoga would stretch out those muscles, and give them a more lean-toned look.

Sprinting and Long Distance Running, i do those, it def builds up muscle. It doesn't sound like you are fat or anything, you probably were just born with bigger leg muscles. Nothing wrong with that. I have big leg muscles myself, even when I workout and excercise, they def don't slim down to a model's legs or anything haha.

What helped with me is a combination of Pilates and Running/Sprinting (usually 2-3 miles of running, half a mile of sprinting, 3 times a week). Swimming would help as well.

Don't be so self conscious about those legs of yours.
And during track you def built up leg muscles. Not a bad thing at all, when you stop doing track you probably will lose those leg muscles of yours. It's best to keep working out, you don't have to work out as long and as hard as you did during track, but you still probably should run a few times a week. It's important, you want to be healthy.

over time, the muscle will weaken if you don't keep working on it. all you have to do is wait i guess :/

Pick up a sport that doesn't involve a lot of running. I was muscular during my swim and basketball years, but now that I have tennis, I slimmed down a lot.

awww i miss my nice legs from my basketball/track/cross country days. ummm about the only thing u can do is not exercise...but its probably not gonna do much good because muscles don't get smaller they can slim down a little though (atleast thats what my biology teacher told me back in 10th grade).

But yea i quit playing sports for a year (11th grade) and i went from wearing a size 11 jeans to a size 7 jeans so maybe you should be lazy for a year then pick back up on sports...or do a sport that doesn't require you to build up a lot of muscle. I played tennis my 12th grade year & it is a lot of fun.

How tall are you???

You're probably just big-boned. Just wait for a while. Eventually, you'll have a growth spurt that will make you taller and slimmer.

Why do strong legs bother you? They're not like horrendously unattractive.

All it means is that you're healthy, and not a lazyass. Be glad that you have strong legs.

You don't want to look anorexic, do you? Just so long as you're a girl, you legs will still look girly, just muscular girly.

They shouldn't turn out completely straight.
Lol, they'll still be curvy, so stop fretting.

Not bad.

anyways, just try your best not to work with your legs anymore.

the lesser you use your leg, muscle shrinks.

if you dont like that, you can always swim .. which is good becuase it stretches out your muscle.

Those aren't man muscular legs at all. You would see more definition if it was muscle.

Hey, next time just edit the pictures into your previous post, but it's not really a problem. I think your legs look fine. Honestly. I pictured "man muscular legs" as in [ur=http://www.female-bodybuilding-photos.com/4images/data/media/8/mlegs4.jpg]this[/url]. Just give it time. I'm self-conscious of my legs too, but I don't mind showing them off sometimes. It's just your natural body structure. I'm sure it'll even out in a while though.

wow. That's like me. I have these muscular legs. But I don't really care about making them slimmer. I like having muscular legs, rather than having flamingo stick legs... so, yeah. Just thought I'd share that.
