Ok. Since my Programmer name is disabled Due to an administrator releasing it to someone pretending to be me on my old name ba11erz4lyfe. I have come to the conclusion that the securty on cb is completely awful. I have been silent about this not to make it public due to the request of the administrator at fault. But since she has failed to act in returning my name to me that she gave away under false pretenses to someone impersonating.my account has now been stripped of it's posting rights and the password has been changed due to an admin's actions. This account now has a different email address and has been abused by many other cb members. I truly think that this is an unfair situation.

But back to the topic at hand.

What do you think of Cb's security? stubborn.gif

Update:I "think" have regained control of my account feel free to re-enlable the posting after tomarrow just to be sure.

Not as good as I thought it was, obviously. It's good, as long as the admin isn't fooled into doing something they shouldn't have done.

As long as the admin isn't fooled? And how would an admin know if he/she is being lied to besides looking at someone's writing style (which can be deceiving)?

I'd say the security is excellent... if there didn't exist the odd idiotic members who hack into other people's accounts and do some sort of damage. The problem is always fixed in the end.

As for this problem, well, it would be solved quicker if both parties were telling the truth.

I think it's pretty good, since nothing has happened to me.

But, since that stuff happened to you, I voted good.

I could be mean and say something about you...but I'll reframe.

I think the security is excellent, actually.

Oh well.

Anyway, secruity isn't going to protect you 100% on an internet forum.

Your online persona IS your online identity, Spencer. Someone initially posed as Rico and defamed his character.

...and it should matter what others think? just because someone posed as you, doesn't mean that people will think less of you. yes, i saw the posting that was done and how degrading it can be on his personality, but he acts like his life is coming to an end because of it.

Oh please, if the tables were turned you would want everyone to know. You'd feel just as violated. People who have been a dedicated member of CB don't find it amusing or trite that their account has been hacked into. Not everyone has the, "who cares what everyone thinks" attitude, Spencer. Obviously some loser who didn't have a life thought they could waste their time hacking into his account and making him look like a fool. If an idiot spent their time doing that, that shows that it means something to one or more people. What? That's not supposed to personally offend the victim? Come on.

actually id just claim that i wasnt on and that it wasnt me and move past it, not exploit the situation and act like the world is going to end. i could care less if people believed me because i would know the truth.

Or even if you don't "care what everyone thinks," it's still a really bullshit thing to happen. Whether you're one of the most beloved people around here, someone who goes unnoticed, or someone widely disliked, no one wants to be blatantly slandered. That whole apathy theory holds a whole lot truer when the thing is based on truth. For example, when people call me a geek, I really don't give a f**k. I can fully understand how they could come to that conclusion, and I'm not going to argue it. But if someone pretends to be me and goes around acting like a complete fucktard, that's a whole lot worse. There's a big difference between not caring what people think when you're being yourself, and when you're generally hated because of something someone else has done to make you look like an ass. If you want to be thought of an ass, go right ahead and look like one yourself, but don't make me look like one and say I shouldn't care.

I'm not saying Rico is completely innocent here, but you can in no way expect him not to care.
