I've done MANY colorizations in my lifetime <3
Its nice for a first. hehe you missed a couple of spots tho =P
Add some lipstick! makeup is always the funnest part! For the teeth, I would have erased some of the skin color from them with a brush set to 60% opacity. The hair is a lil too saturated, so a darker color would be better and the skin color is a lil on the reddish site. but its pretty good for a first. Keep on trying at it Ada, you could be really good at this <3

i've done a couple, some good, some bad but at least i got the hang of it.

^ like she said. you missed a couple of spots but the skin tone is pretty good for your first colourization. it might be a lil too pinkish-orange but some practice and you will get better. her hair is too saturated and looks really fake. the lips blend in with the skin and teeth aren't skin coloured. her eye whites are a little grey.

all those problems are mistakes most first timers make. keep practicing and great job!

There are still some parts you've missed as said above. I suggest lowering the saturation of the hair. It doesn't match the skin tone, and change the color of the lips. Even without make-up, people usually don't have such a nude lip color.

^I actually think that it's better to have an outsider's opinion, especially on something as simple as colorizing. It just takes a good eye to critique it, imo.

Well its okay for your first, but it kinda looks like you slopped it together. Anyways, the skin needs to cover her whole face. But the skin is just okay, not the best. The hair is good, but do more for your next colorization. Such as makeup, lipgloss/lipstick, make her eye color a different color. Did you do her teeth? If you need some more help, you can aim me at southpolexqueen. I know I just started also, but I can show you some tutorials that I used. If you don't mind?!

Well I know I can`t stop people from replying but atleast I haven`t just seen a reply saying stuff like "It looks nice!" in this topic. And people are critizing it so I`m happy with that. wink.gif

I only want people who experienced it to critique this because they can give tips and past experience.

The face is red. I suggest you combine colors to get the right color.
Sometimes i do it the hard way. i colourize it, then i use the brush to add colors and make up to her...and i try to blend the colors together.
I use pink, yellow, orange, and red mixed together to try to get the right color. I also lower down some of the opacity so then the color is just right.
make sure you cover the whole face.
Im not a professional, though. =]

Pictures that aren't so washed-out (colour-wise) work a lot better in the beginning. Hue-Saturation is your new best friend for skin colouring, it usually gives out fair colours and you can play with it as much as you like. For blonde hair, use several different layers with several shades of yellow (you can highlight different areas on the layers if you like) to get a more natural blonde.

And then as several people said, the teeth are kinda eh. Plus you missed spots (quick mask in photoshop is cool for getting quick coverage, the brush tool is cool for detailing)... Her eyes are rather dark. It looks kinda unnatural for eyes to be that dark. Not that I can talk because my eyes actually are that dark (which is also how I know it's unnatural).

well, in photoshop, you go to image->adjustments->curves. basically, the way you bend the line changes the saturation, etc. of the images. i use to tune the colors i use.

All I do is colorizations.

The hair is sort of a strange hue, but its nice. It doesn't really go great with the skin. For the teeth, usually I just use a light blueish and lower the opacity A LOT. But its pretty nice for your first.
