friend liking the same guy as you, what should i do? Options

okay so i like this guy. actually i really really like this guy. he's really cool but he's moving. so i won't be able to see him. my best friend likes him too. but she's trying to get over him because he's moving. i have't told her i liked him because i'm afraid of what she'd say. and i had an experience like this with my other best friend where i told her i liked someone and she said she liked him too. we were really competetive. and it wasn't really helping our friendship. i don't want that to happen.

you could tell her, but dont try to move in on him unless your absolutely sure she doesnt mind. (just dont do it actually....) plus hes moving, theres not much use

I don't think it'd matter much if you tell her that you also like him, 'cause he's moving anyway and the two of you will get over him. But if he weren't moving, and your friend wasn't trying to get over him, then it would be better to keep that information to yourself.

Then again, you just don't have to tell her. You can both get over him and she wouldn't have to know that you liked him.

since he's moving, it really isn't worth causing some potential problems. and since you said both of you really like him, it's gonna take awhile for you two to get over him. when he's out of sight, you two will slowly get over him. when you've moved on to other (different) guys, you can bring it up or talk about it.

If I were you,I wouldn`t go for it. He`s leaving anyways.Your friend isn`t..so you`ll have someone to hang with in person instead of only seeing him once in awhile and only chatting or talkin` to him on the phone.

yeah hes moving so whats the point in being competitive. and if anything were to happen. he'd be far away anyways, and if your going out with him it might ruin your friendship since you say you both like him. its kinda worthless. and like they say chicks before dicks. haha >_> i know im not helping

the fact that he is moving heckka sux but.. maybe u could just stay friends with both the guy u like & ur friend that likes him too... & just.. neither of u guys get him? u dont want to become to attached to him or else it will be a lot sadder later. sorry if i dont help much.. haha

i agree with everybody..there really is no point in tellin her..it would only cause conflicts which i doubt because if you guys are really good friends than you would trust each other enough so that there will not be any problems in your guys friendship especially over a guy who is leaving.

-These situations came up all the time with me and my guy friends... every time it was like... I just let them have the girl. I figured that if they were just some prize to be won, they weren't worth it to me... :P
