I look upon my blood stained hands and weep,
Praying to the gods above,
Knowing that this
Will draw him to me,
I will never be safe from him now.

The moon is shining
With a haunting glow,
And I know for certain that he is near.
All is quiet,
Completely still as
He comes out of the shadows.

My eyes flit to his pale skin,
Over his lithe body,
And I gasp as he grins at me
His long fangs gleaming
Dangerously in the moonlight.

Advancing slowly,
With the grace of a feline,
He approaches me.
My hands continue to drip blood,
And I stumble back.

His tongue runs over his succulent lips slowly,
And I find myself locked within his gaze.
Trapped within his embrace,
I'm paralyzed with fear and disgust.
He doesn't care though,
As his fangs enter my neck harshly,
Seeking my sweet blood.

I try to struggle,
But it is to no avail.
He is sucking me dry.
My arms are weakly struggling against his,
And as I finally lose consciousness,
I hear laughing in my mind.

You have lost,
The voice whispered.
I have won.
You put up a worthy fight,
But it wasn't enough.
You weren't strong enough to battle me.

I love vampire poems. I wrote a couple. Heh. Very nice usage of the word "lithe" - it's not used as often as it should be. Hehe. I like the last stanza.

Yeah, I know...Lithe really isn't used much...I've seen it used a couple times and when I've seen it used, its just been used incorrectly...It's just plain wrong... ><

I HATE when people misuse words. That's one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to writing. mad.gif
