Has anyone here tried the Economic plan (https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shar...p?se=%2B&ci=260) or can say something about it? I know godaddy's registering is okay but how about the hosting?

If you are looking to host a basic wordpress blog GoDaddy offers nice linux hosting.

What are you looking to host? I have had alot of accounts with GoDaddy, so I might be able to give you a heads up.

Hm, well I'm not looking for anything in particular. Just if there if their servers have good uptime and if they actually take the time to help with any problems etc.

Since they register domains too I was just worried if that affects hosting in anyway.

Toyo, thanks for the reviews page.

Can anyone recommend a hosting company that has reliable hosting for like $5-6/month with like a reasonable amount of dbs and some parked domains etc? I'm nost asking for like a 5 GB, can't use that much anyway =P.

Well right now I host a forum with 2,704 members on it, on the Premium plan. The only reason I do this is because of GoDaddys uptime, which is 99.9%, I have NEVER had the server go down or anything. And what else is amazing, is that they host almost 3 million other sites on my server. There domain servers, and hosting servers are separate, and they also offer 24/7, 365 telephone support on ANY products. But when you order hosting, go with the Linux OS! The windows servers don’t have many options on it.

Hm, I'm still lost on the Linux thing, mind explaining?

Like is there an option of selecting Linux or Windows in the sign up?

Is godaddy reliable when it comes to like database uptimes?

Well, when you are on the hosting plan page ( https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shar...p?se=%2B&ci=260 ) there is a little hidden drop down box, it looks like this.

Basically it just changes a HUGE list of features.
Linux hosting comes with the following
PHP4 or PHP5
Custom PHP.ini
Custom PHP5.ini
Perl(w/FASTCGI)
Python CGI
Java
Ruby CGI
Ruby on Rails(w/FASTCGI)
Unlimited SQL databases

GoDaddy database uptime is the same as there server uptime, 99.9%. I have been with them for almost 2 1/2 year with this forum hosting, and they have had no downtime that I know of. The database uptime they have is the only reason I keep it on GoDaddy servers, if they had bad uptime I would host it on my own server. This way if something were to go wrong, I could just call GoDaddy and have them fix it.

So if you choose windows, those features you have wouldn't be there eh?

Alright I'll consider that for the future.

Thank you for your help.
