Why do some people feel the need to turn every topic totally off topic, or have a conversation in it?

i was only kidding.

its just one thing that actually is on topic can be expressed in more ways than one and people expand off of that, causing the decline in on topicness

^ Yeah, but it's never happened before...when createBlog was way cooler. Okay, well, maybe it happened a little. Now it's just irksome and excessively done. pinch.gif I think it's mostly due to the lack of quality of the actual threads themselves.

well the repeted nature of this offense indicates that those responsible derive nejoyment from it.

therefore, it is reasonable to infer that their motivation is purely pleasurable

plus, people get upity about it, which is always funny.

It's because cB's topics are getting boring.

That's why topics like the CB War and The people shouldn't be afraid are made.

of course not.

its only fun when there are people in authority to object to it and be irritated by it.

^ well, to echo michael, all the threads which are actually popular lend themselves to conversation.

such as anonymous shoutouts, or who do you love/admire.

there are PLENTY of 'quality' threads... but they get a couple pages of responses, and go away. people are interested in them enough to reply once, but because they arent chatting, they forget about it.

I'm aware. But even topics that have the potential to be interesting typically aren't interesting because of the response, or relative lack thereof.

^ yes. that was the point.

there are two types of CBers, as i see it.

lets imagine that CB is an ecosystem. some animals will like to eat the fruit of the Spamspam tree, and others will need to survive on the berries of the Quality bush.

the spamspam tree drops its seeds and grows quickly, while the quality matures more slowly over a longer period.

unfortunately for the animals who like the qaulity berries, the spamspam trees grow so quickly that the quality bushes cannot find room to grow, and begin to die out, or exist in smaller numbers.

unfortunately therefore, due to a lack of food, many of the creatures who feed on the quality berries will die out, leaving the spamspam trees and those who eat them to dominate.

Why do we keep explaining things to each other when we agree?

But yeah, it was a rather good example. I applaud you, kind sir.

What are you on about? Perhaps I'd support you more if you didn't try to give my country to your ex-girlfriend.

So Nick, how much longer until I sufficiently piss you off?
