Really didn't know where to post this topic but it's kinda asking for help. biggrin.gif

Anyways, I had a big idea for Xanga: an RPG Battle System.

This is quite possible if <script> tags are still usable. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read this tutorial. Most of the RPG will be server-based. The only part I can think of to use Xanga for, is displaying the character's stats such as HP, MP, EXP, scan link, etc.

But I don't wanna start yet. I wanna know how many people would be interested in this. (Feel free to ask questions)

Can PHP run on Xanga? Xanga uses ASP for the display of its pages.

I did. I just don't see how it actually executes the PHP code.

I'll post a proof of concept as soon as possible.

I'm just going to make a <script> code where I set a variable and the user will have to edit that variable to their username. Using that, the <script> will use that variable and link to an offsite file and search the database using that username variable to get out the RPG character's stats.

Most of the RPG will be offsite.

Of course it's possible if you run it on a different server—but why would you want to run part on Xanga and the engine on a different server? Why not run the whole thing on a PHP-enabled server?

Well, I just thought it'd get more attraction from Xanga.
