FF7 is amazing, but for some reason I'm not a huge fan of the rest. FF8 was annoying with the having to use "Draw" constantly. I've read many walkthroughs even stating that you want to have 100 of each magic. That's at least using the Draw command 30-40 times. Not my cup of tea. FF9 is a lot like FF7 so I like it other than not being able to control limit breaks. F10 was a huge disappointment as the game actually lacks gameplay and is entirely cinematics and eyecandy.

Actually i found FFX to be kinda fun, but then again it was the first one i played(kinda) i liked 7 but 8 i have to say stunk. and after nobuo left from square after it fused with enix and they made FF X-2 i was really dissapointed

Final Fantasy is more CGI than anime but they do have anime of it soI guess it still anime. My favorites are FF7 (AC was the best), 8, 10 and for some odd reason 9.

They actually have a FF anime. FF Unlimited or something..it ain't that good anyways.

I've been a square-enix geek since I was 7 -_-

My first FF was FF7. Afterwards I started to play the ones my brother played when he was younger. Years passed by I've played most of the FF games:

Final Fantasy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, X-2, and 11. I've played Crystal Chronicles at a friend's didn't like that much... -_- Tactics was the only one I haven't played D:

My least favorite would be 9. I didn't bother to finish it. It bored me to death D:

My #1 would be FF7. Nothing can beat that sh*t, foo D:

I love Final Fantasy and everything. The people behind the plot are amazing.
The games are amazing, though, the games are getting kind of boring for me. I think it's just because they're getting slow for me and they take a long time to beat.

But I still gotta love Final Fantasy itself. Oh yeah, and Final Fantasy VII(7) has got to be the best. cool.gif

Lolz hmmm judging we're mostly talking about the game this should go to technology but why send such a good topic over...

So to make it seem like a anime thread I'll address this first with the animes ide which is actually Final Fantasy Unlimited. If you guys don't know about it... I suggest you watch the first few episodes because after a while it starts becoming boring a repeatitive...

Also addressing the game saga. I have all of them and played all of them and my favorite has to be FFIV and FFVII also FFX-2 ( MAINLY BECAUSE OF YUNA PAIN AND RIKKU ) ^^

I think most of the Final Fantasy games are rather lame. Boring, unoriginal, overplayed, underdeveloped, and way over-hyped. I have a specific hatred for FFVII. I believe it marks the downfall of RPGs in the video game industry. Just, never appealed to me. The gameplay was sub-par, and the game, to me, seemed like just a huge gimmick.

The only Final Fantasy that I truly love would be Final Fantasy Tactics. Wonderful game. Amazing game play. I could, and have, spent days and days playing it. Great stuff. To me, the only Final Fantasy worth more than a glance. God, Final Fantasy sucks.

So, you honestly believe that FFVII was the mark of a golden age for RPGs in the industry? What about that violent and aggressive attitude towards replacing quality game mechanics with more impressive graphic rendering? Ah, screw this. It isn't worth it. Everyone loves this trash. I'm more of an Enix guy anyways.

Tactics was crap IMO... Haven't played it since I was 6 though, maybe that's why I didn't understand it. laugh.gif

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was fun to me.

Im a Fan of FFVI (currently playing), FFVII, FFVIII, FX, and Advent Children
I also enjoy playing the songs on the piano(terrible yo), and listening to the piano collections. FF music owns all except Hip Hop (directed at Yen, who does not realize my full blackness).

And as far as FFVI its pretty fun, so many different characters to choose from, plus I think its almost as good as FFVII. However IMO, Square's best game was Chrono Trigger and not a FF game.

I still need to play FFIX. I played a demo of FFXII , that sucked to me, I'll pass on that one. I can't wait for FFXIII though.

You definatley arent the only one who loves FF.

VII is the one that got me addicted to the series... Since then, I now own: 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2...

I refuse to get 11.. Can't wait for 12 though ^^;

My favorite has to be 7... The whole story line is amazing. && I just love Cloud, haha.

^_^;

(KH is amazing <3 I own both games, teheheh...)

I was so tempted to buy Tactics. They were waving a GIANT CARROT in my face. -loves tactic games- But I soon realized it's not really a tactics game. Too much make-your-own-character. -just likes the tactics, not the storyline- But Fire Emblem was good.
Mwaha... As soon as I saw the title I go:
"... The Spirits Within! Wait. Remember you're the only one who likes that movie."
But yeah. I saw, like, one episode of Unlimited. It was okay... -shrug-

lol yeah but its more realistic and not turned base. If you are about to fight something you don't line up in 3 or 4 and stand in a distance while taking turns attacking each other.

Cloud: who's turn is it?
Sephiroth : Yours. I just hit you with a super nova.
Cloud: oh yeah that hurt.

I hear that FF12 and the remade FF7 ditched the whole turn base thing which will probably more of my suit.

>.< Its really just our opinions either way you need strategy to play both games with FF to know what to use and how to use wisely and KH with knowing what moves to do, Observing attack patterns of the enemy and how to dodge while being attacked.

^wow Robbi you're late. They've been making trailers for the FF7 demo in PS3 since last summer.

Even though button-mashing is more realistic, Phil, I like rpg's and strategy better. They give you numbers of how much damage you take and it's always different

Bleh susan you stalker... Don't follow me around the anime forum!! you do enough of that on maplestory HAHA ^^

Anywhooz back to the thing about the remake off FF7... it hasen't been released yet but in the making. From what I know they won't be adding anything new except an upgrade on the graphics to the graphics of AC...

Somepeople hate the battle sequence of the previous FF's but if you guys watch the trailer for FFXIII they are breaking the previous battle sequences and changing it up a bit. Basically advancing from the FFX-2 theory on where its not one persons turn. But basically 2 can go at once.

And the theory on the KH2 and the button mashing I believe its true but I don't button mash actually because if you put pauses and new buttons such as the square into a combo it changes... Probably most of you that played KH1 or KH2 didn't know about this.... -___-;;

The music had such a nice effect on me. Every song Umetsu-sama composed fit every scene, place, situation going on and it was just wonderful. It inspired me to become a composer myself!

I prefer nearly any track in Third Strike over any track in any Final Fantasy game I'm familiar with aside from Tactics. But, I will admit that Nobuo Uematsu is a fine composer and artist. Quite the professional.

And yen you talking crap about FFX-2 saddens me because i enjoyed how they tried to change the battle sequence with the old retro with the turns but with instant attacking.... But like I said everyone has different tastes ^^

Would anyone deny the fact that the video game music found in Final Fantasy is far superior than any other video game music?

Not really. Sure Uematsu is a great composer but im sure there are better music found in other video games.

He went with Hironobu Sakaguchi. Perhaps he wasn't getting paid enough.

From the voice acting and the battle system, I believe FFXII would be a big hit! [in the North Americas] :D And I believe Nobuo composed Battle at the Bridge or something like that in FFXII, Chocobo theme, Prelude, and Prologue. I'm not sure about Prelude, but I listened to the soundtrack, and was glad that Nobuo composed the chocobo music for FFXII. Can't stand the one in FFX-2.

The Taiko Dum Master opening can kick the FF soundtrack's butt anytime. XD No really. Not that it's not good, because I've heard it. Never played the game, but I've heard about 1/5th of all the soundtracks. I have waaaaay too many FF-obsessed friends.
That and I like pretty music. Helps me focus. I'm like a manga-ka with her precious background music.

Nobuo really only quit for X-2, I heard he'll most likely be in 12, and by the sounds of it, 13... Have any of you seen the trailer for 13?! *gasps* FF needs to let me test their games before they release them on the ps3... theres no way i could afford a ps3.. anyone got some spare change for a po'folk?

http://spikedhumor.com/articles/27717/E3_F...ntasy_XIII.html

Does that not sound like Nobuo to anyone? I'm almost sure of it... Though I may have to ask meh bee-eff, since Nobby is like his fav composer... I sware he spends more time learning his work than talking to me.. sweating.gif Okay, he USED to spend more time... etc =P Anyone agree on that sounding Nobuo-ish?

nope. I played his songs on the piano and violin for 3 years from FF6-FFx-2. I would know if its his work or not. This sounds like a square-enix game alright but it sounds like Star Ocean crossing some other game like Shinobi.

So everyone likes Nobo.... well me and Crys dicided if your such a die hard "nobo" fan then your in the wrong forum. besides that song sounds exactly like Nobuo. im playing all his songs on piano atm, and im studdying his work for an A2 peice. and i know exatly how he sounds =p. i want you all to listen to advent children and hear the whole 20th century effect then tell me that doesnt sound like nobuo. 1 more thing. nobuo doesnt have a certain style. he does romantic and 20th centuary and what ever else fits in with the video game.

Yep. Thats what I said when I was on the phone, but I was more sarcastic. Heres what I said

"If youre a Die hard 'Nobo' fan, youre in the wrong forum, we're talking about Nobuo"

:) Andd ×__Fcuk. , sorry I don't know your name.. You're right, his music does change, from FF1 all the way till now, it's changed a lot, due to the fact his original music was midi format ;)

BTW: Blow_Don't_SUCK .... "FF6-FFx-2." He didn't do X-2....

I still haven't beat 8... >.> Lame, I know. I've leveled squallie up to 100, and I'm working on the rest of the party... I've beat 7,9, 10-2... my FFV disk freezes, can't even try that. & I'm working on 6... I'll get back to 8 one day... I should finish 10, but MIKEE had to go to the final bosses and leave me theree, how rude. I wasn't leveled up enough! *sniff*

Hm.. I need more ff games.. like... 13. =x

It's fluffymecia that gets me on 8! ... Inside joke... You know.. Griever & Ultimecia... If you name it Fluffy.... erm, nvm :]

All the FFs were easy. The only hard one was the first FF. Also, FYI, the final boss is usually not the hardest. The optional ones are hard.

The hardest boss has to be the 1st battle on ff9... it really is hard =(. Okay so its not, the hardest acual boss fight has to be the 4 versions of ultimecia and one of grivier, omega weapon on 10 isnt a push over although i only faught him once, ozama is, emerald and ruby dive me insane and omega on 8 isnt half bad lol. basicly the hardest boss id have to say would be ruby, because hes such a pain in the ass!

QUOTE(original copy @ May 20 2006, 3:09 PM) *
FF7 is amazing, but for some reason I'm not a huge fan of the rest. FF8 was annoying with the having to use "Draw" constantly. I've read many walkthroughs even stating that you want to have 100 of each magic. That's at least using the Draw command 30-40 times. Not my cup of tea. FF9 is a lot like FF7 so I like it other than not being able to control limit breaks. F10 was a huge disappointment as the game actually lacks gameplay and is entirely cinematics and eyecandy.

1 never had a chance or the funds to buy myself a ps2 so 1 only have played up to 9. 1 absolutely love number 7. Classic in my eyes but it always gets stolen/lost. mad.gif gameplay and storyline impeccable. 8 disappointed as a followup for 7 because of draw & too much relying on GF. 9 was fun tho it was an innocent version of 7 and 1 liked the characters a lot.

p.s. 1m looking to create a myspace layout featuring cloud and maybe with aries. anybody think they can help me?
