The clouded mirror
Reflects my image barely, Just enough to see myself, Staring sadly with tears Running down my eyes The mist grows thicker, Pouring into the open room, Clouding my judgment even more As I hold the knife closer to my wrist. My hand shakes, My eyes tear up I begin to sob, Alone in my room, Feeling stupid thinking that Taking my own life, Would solve my problems. Thinking that it would bring you back, That no one would miss me if I would take my own life. My eyes widen in realization, And Tears of sadness and also of relief Run down my face hotly. You wanted me to live my life to its fullest Even if you weren't there with me. That was the true extent Of our love for each other. And I felt like I doubted it. I feel so ashamed now. I know what you were Trying to tell me now, I'm sorry for being so stupid... The knife clatters to the ground, As I throw it away from me disgustedly. And I sob hard into my hands. I whisper softly and longingly, I miss you so much... |

The pain of loss in this poem gives me goosebumps! How triumphant to hear the clank of steel on the floor and the accompanying tears.....
Let the healing begin!
