I can't wait for it. I want to see Phoenix aka Jean come back alive.

Also wonder where they are living currently since their mansion is destroyed and base discovered.

Hope nightclawer still in the movie or at least join up with the X-men.

I don't know the plot of the 3'rd one but I did like the one I saw on FX...Hopefully Halle Berry signs on again because I hate it when they switch people makes it just weird.

I saw the newer trailer on the internet a week ago or so. Looks better than what I've seen so far. I like the films, don't get me wrong but I have a slew of criticism to go along with my enjoyment of the films.

I read X-Men comics and what bugs me more than anything is how friggin' young they cast Rogue. I was a huge Rogue/Gambit shipper and no way could Gambit be a part of these films (he's one of my favorite Marvel characters) after they cast Rogue the way they did. Also, I realize that Halle Berry is a beautiful woman - but that's the problem. She's too 'girly' for Storm (I always had in my mind that Angela Basset would have been a better casting choice).

Hugh Jackman looks good and I LOVE that they cast Kelsey Grammer as The Beast (he looks fantastic!). It's also cool that Pheonix is going to take a walk on the bad side (as indicated on the previews, albeit not sure how long she'll be there, or whether or not it's a plot-trailer decoy) but looks cool none-the-less. I'm bummed that Nightcrawler won't be in the film as I thought Alan Cumming did such a wonderful job in the role.

I will say this though - X3 looks a hell of a lot better than the new Superman film coming out. =/

WHAT?!? NO NIGHTCRAWLER?! no nightcrawler, no gambit, and i think no sentinels but iono, they're taking out a lot of good stuff. they were hella awesome though, i can't believe they decided not to add gambit in the movie

^ Nope, no Gambit. Rumor has it that they wanted to cast the guy that plays Sawyer in "Lost" but he wanted to just stick with the show. That actually would have been terrific casting - IF they would have cast Rogue at the right age. Interestingly enough, the girl that played Shannon on "Lost" turned down the role for Kitty Pryde (I think) to stick with the show, but her character was killed off on "Lost." laugh.gif

I also think it would have been cool to see the Black Panther. *sighs*

Oh and snippet from comics contiuum:
QUOTE
X3 UPDATE
Sources told The Continuum there will "almost certainly" be guests affiliated with X3 at both WonderCon and Wizard World Los Angeles.

In other X3 notes:

* Not only is Nightcrawler not in the film, it's likely he won't even be mentioned.

* As seen in the trailer, a different actor is playing the president.

* Burger King will have international promotions, but there's no word yet on domestic tie-ins.

That was from December, but nothing has changed.

^^yeah i know what u mean about rogue being hella young and all, i kinda agree but if they did cast her at an older age i think the story would have been more difficult to create. i think them making an academy full of young mutants was cool and made more sense. iceman was supposed to be old like the others too.

Oh I completely understand the direction they were attempting to go - they also wanted to demonstrate when/how a mutant's powers start to manifest themselves (hence the kissing scene in the beginning of film one).

So yeah, I understand - I just don't *agree* with it. I think a better character to utlilize in that capacity would have been Jubilee (who was younger than most of the group). Rogue should have been kept the fiesty and poweful southern belle that was created in the books.

Totally. I just don't agree with Rogue + Bobby.

Too bad Gambit's not in this movie. Or any of the other movies for that matter.

Jubilee needs more screentime.

I read or heard (I forget which) that Alan Cumming didn't want to be in the movie because he didn't have a big part so going through hours of make up wouldn't be worth it. It makes sense...but I still wish that he did it.

I agree. I love Gambit! I read a few things about the past movies and I didn't even notice that Jubilee was in them!

I saw the trailer on TV for the first time yesterday. I'm surprised, I thought they'd be hyping it like crazy especially since it comes out later this month.

edit: THERE ARE VAGUE SPOILERS IN REALLY LIGHT BLUE-ISH AT THE BOTTOM!!! AVOID THEM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW YET!!

i grew up on x-men, so i've been so excited about all the movies.

but i absolutely can not wait for the third one now. i swear i have watched every single one of the trailers / tv spots / interviews / behind the scenes footage, all multiple time.

i'm so happy it's coming out on the 26th in the states, since i'm here now and all, and i get that day off of school because i'm a twelfth year. which means midnight showing!

so many people are dissapointed by who is in the movie and who isn't. i'm just worried that they've tried to put too much in plot wise and won't be able to develop everything enough. and i hope the new director did well enough. the change worried me. (yes. i am that big of a geek.)

heck, as long as aaron stanford is on screen, it will be good. haha. just like stan lee, i have a thing for sexy pyromaniacs named johnny.

yep. i'm more than a little excited.

there's no nightcrawler because Alan Cumming said he didn't want to do another movie.
there's no gambit because it was initialy drafted as a cameo, and since the actor they were looking at denied them, they chopped the part. personally, i think the reson they don't want to put gambit in as a full role is because they already have all the tension with Bobby, Shadowcat, and Rogue.
And there actually are sentinels in the movie. there's one tv spot or special footage where they show logan beating the sh*t out of a sentinel, and that apparently plays a big part in some partial plot.

anyway, that's all for now.

I already heard a spoiler about the movie (if it's true) and I'm not pleased. But, nonetheless, I can't wait to see this.

I saw it tonight/this morning (11:59 PM). It was AWESOME. Really. I didn't even like the first two, but I liked this one. If you see it, stay a little after the credits.

it was scary Jean looked like thqat girl in Stay Alive
The movie had a lot of action
and it was mostly focused on Woverine and Storm
I liek the second one the best...this one wasn't that good...but it was a great way to end teh wholel X-men seris thing...it was soo sadd
i give teh movie a 3.5/5 stars

Just got back from seeing it. Thought it was terrible. It doesn't even compare to the first 2... they were much better and more engaging. This one lacks a plot and the fight and action scenes just weren't as exciting. The new characters were poorly developed. They did a poor job with Jean as the firebird... she wasn't a firebird at all as she had been depicted in comic books. Halle Berry's acting bothered me. As a big fan of the XMEN movies, I am very disappointed.

Meh.

Okay. The part after the credits. Totally unbelievable.. when he died, there was no way he could.. be alive again. I teared at that part though. And I agree that the new characters weren't developed. It should've been longer ish? The whole Bobby, Rogue, Kitty love triangle thing was messed up. Kitty wasn't even that big of a character in the past movies. And I liked Phoenix in the cartoon X-men, but I didn't like her in this movie. And when she turned grayish or transparent-y and was "phoenix".. she reminded me of a bird.

Don't get me wrong I am dying to see the movie. But... is it just me or is it slightly over commercialized? I mean myspace... and you go to Dell.com... almost everywhere is promoting this movie. Yes, it's going to be a hit... but I don't need to be TOLD to watch something good. ><

Visually, it was pretty good, but I still think the second one was the best. For being the last film in the series, this movie really didn't have much of a resolution. It didn't really say a whole lot about diversity, acceptance, and so forth. Or maybe it said something, but it just didn't make any sense. At any rate, the point did not really come across in the film.

Remember when he was teaching the class? And they had the video feed of that doctor, Moira?, with that body? And he said something to the extent of, "What if you put the mind of father of two [something something] into the body of a killer [or something]" because that body has no conscious mind or something. He was teaching ethics at the time. IDK. But I'm guessing he left a part of him in that body? That's why when he said hello to the doctor she was suprised.

How about when Magneto moved the chess piece at the end??? Hehehhee.

Dude. So you know that one character that could take away the mutantness? Like, I thought he would play this huge role in the end where he could help Jean out. But he just disappeared in the end. Wtf?

I can't believe they put in the "I'm the Juggernaut, BITCH" part. The audience loved that part. Haha.

It definitely wasn't. Singer > Ratner. Why couldn't the studio wait for Singer. He said he wanted to make it. Impatient bastards. >.<

Generally, a trilogy is only three movies. It's called The Last Stand, which signifies that it is the final film—a point even Brett Ratner makes.[1] There might be more X-Men films, but this was supposed to be the end of a trilogy—and for being the final movie in a trilogy it left a bunch of loose ends.

exactly.

maybe that's what bothered me about the movie.
There were loose ends everywhere. Especially if you stay for the movie and watch the scene after the credits roll. Just kinda confuses you more.
Plus I don't like how most of the characters ended up...
Just the beginning def threw me off.
I don't know...I really think Singer should of finished the triliogy.
And It was just a horrible way to end it really.....
I dunno, I loved the first one when it came out, Thought the 2nd one was great, and was looking forward to the 3rd one and now that i've seen it...ah i dunno, it was incredibly sad.
Not the kinda movie you watch over and over again in my opinion..
I dunno, it bothered me and I don't know why yet.

Surprising in quite a few parts. The end with Jean and Logan was what probably had my attention the most.

I wouldn't really consider that a love triangle. It was more like he was being nice, and Rogue became jealous because they were actually able to touch each other.

I'm pretty sure, from what my friend's boyfriend was babbling, that that was to signify him mentally regaining his powers since its all in their head anyway.

I saw it last night and was actually pretty impressed, because I hadn't seen the first two. Meant to rent them today, but they were out. Drat. Still, it was interesting enoiugh, and I fortunately didn't spend the entire thing confused.

Its not going to be the last X-Men movie. I don't know how they plan on making a fourth one with 3 main characters dead, but this article tells a little more: http://www.themovieblog.com/archives/2006/...rms_xmen_4.html

I think they are trying to say the "permanent" cure was only temporary, so they can try to make a fourth movie.

You're missing the point: It is the last film of the trilogy, which means that it should be wrapped up.

It's like the Star Wars movies. Episode III wasn't the last film, but it was the last film of the prequel trilogy, which is why the plot of the prequel trilogy is neatly wrapped up in Episode III.

X-Men III is the last film of this X-Men trilogy, so it should wrap up the plot of the trilogy, regardless of whether more X-Men films are made.

I think what they're thinking is coming next is called Magneto, because if you look at Ian McKellan's IMDB page, it says they've announced they're making it, and judging by the chess piece, it would make sense.

So let me get this straight. Its the last of this story in XMen but not xmen overall? like they could make another one later on but about a prequel or phoenix version..... kind of like superman returns , they made the old movies but this is totally different from the older version.
