I was wondering if anyone had a job.
Because I was filling out an application to Cold
Stone Creamery. Seems like a fun job and
they hire 15 year olds..so that could be
something I could start off with, save myself
some cash.

Anyone have one?

At the Y, at school, and as an on-call receptionist for computer program conventions.

That's pretty cool. This is
my second time applying for
an ice cream place. First I
applied for Carvel. But they
called me a month later, and
I had lost the motivation to
work. But now, I can do it.
Because my friend works at
Cold Stone and says that her
boss needs people. So I hope
they'll call me in time.

Being 18 and living away from the parents as well as trying to afford a wedding, I have no choice but to work. =x

But yeah, I work at a locally owned shoe store in the mall. We basically sell prom, bridal, formal shoes, etc.. We also have nice giant heels and then ballroom dance shoes. So yeah, a little bit of everything. But my responsibilities are basically helping out on the floor, selling, and handling marketing stuff such as the store website we're working on getting up and whatnot.

I'm fifteen and I'm probably one of few people who has parents who won't let their kid get a job.

Yeah, they don't want me to, but I wouldn't mind saving some cash and having my own instead of always asking my parents.

LUCKY!!! i want to have a 35% discount at A&F!
i don't have a job, but my older sister does. she's a manager at some golf course in Boston. [but my family lives in NYC. she just happens to go to BU.] and she's graduating college next Sunday.
i can't have a job anyways. my parents don't want me to and i have extracurricular classes to attend every two Saturdays and Monday-Friday in July.

I need money!! I wish I had a job. I'm 13 though. Oooh, but when I'm 14 I can get a job at Winn Dixie, and I'm gonna start saving up for a car then. But I can only work like 2 hours a day or whatever because of the child labor laws, which sucks. But when I'm 16 I can at least work part-time!

wow! $6,800? really? that's $81,600 a year!
then you could quit school and keep those jobs. you'd be earning about 2 times what college graduates [first year college graduates, that is] make.

Lifeguarding is only for 2 months out of the year, then it's back down to 2800

Besides, I am not that in need of money now.

I'm surprised...you people really like those kinds of jobs where you have to serve customers? I always heard that those were the worst jobs...or the most stressful or something ermm.gif My older brother worked at a high end clothing store and has lots of stories about b*tchy customers.

I work at a day care center. The day care center has kids aged 3-5 but I guess I'm permanently with the 3 year olds now. They're really cute but one in particular is just horribly behaved _dry.gif It's still fairly new so I don't know how much I'll be making.

Wtf, is up with my parents? I told them tonight at dinner that you make about $245 a week working at Starbucks & I told them that when I turned 15 that I wanted to work at Starbucks. Unlike normal parents, they were like "I am not gonna let you work at Starbucks, if you want $245, I'll give it to you." I always wanted to work at Starbucks sad.gif.
I swear to God, there something wrong with my parents mellow.gif. Most parents would be happy for their child if they got a job or wanted a job.

You could always keep demanding money till they go "alright go get a job". and if they dont give you money and still wont let you get a job, just get one anyway.

the demanding money part might seem evil (i would feel guilty) but it's a good way to get the money.

Yes, I have a job. I work at Shellbourne Conference Center. It's a Catholic retreat center. I do many things that you would do in the hospitality industry, such as cleaning rooms, sometimes cooking, doing dishes, waitressing {It's not what you would think when you think waitressing. There, it's Russian Banquet style, so it's not like the people get menus or anything. I carry out their food on huge platters and put it on one end of the table and they pass it around and serve themselves.}..

mehh. its so hard for me to not get irritated. one of the kids is like virtually mute. its really hard to teach her, becuase i have to form all the thought coaxing questions in the form of a verbal multiple choice question. its ... -___-;;

I'm only 14, but I think I'm going to do volunteer work this summer. I would like a job, but it just seems like so much to be done. When I'm 15, I'll maybe get a job then. I really want some extra cash (well not extra, just cash in general). I don't think they really hire 14-y/o's anyway.

I was wondering if anyone had a job.
Because I was filling out an application to Cold
Stone Creamery. Seems like a fun job and
they hire 15 year olds..so that could be
something I could start off with, save myself
some cash.

Anyone have one?

OMG!!! HAHHAA...before i read the post..and went i clicked the topic title...that was exactly what i was thinking about! i tried to get a job at cold stone..but they were full -_- who wouldnt love a job banging ice cream..sheesh

and me trying to get a job at cold stone was a convo topic earlier today too... so did u get the job?

ive been looking for a job for forever

my friend makes $15/hour "baysitting" kids ..all she does is let the kids run around and she walks over and chats w/ her friend

gah! there are so many people here that make more money that me!

I'm a work study for my university so according to the rules i can only make a max of $230/paycheck. so sad.

I've recently applied as a receptionist for a beauty salon and a sales associate for a book store but no call backs yet. =(

I used to work at the internation call center for U-haul (moving truck company) as a Sales and Reservaions Representative. 14$ an hour

Currently I am employed at Best Buy and am a cashier. (awesome job)

I am actually quitting that job today so that I can go back to U-haul because first of all, they pay a lot better. And 2nd of all, I am getting a car at the end of this month for my 18th birthday and I need to be able to pay the bills which also include my cell phone and the credit card I will be getting.
