I let my friend borrow my iPod mini the other day and she dropped it. She gave it back and she told me it didn't work. On the screen ti has the iPod with a sad face and the exclamation point. I forgot about it during the weekend so I thought it just died and just now I tried to charge it. For about five minutes, it had the big battery in the middle of the screen and a lightning bolt and the battery was colored about 1/3rd way but it didn't more, and about ten mintues after that the screen with the sad face and exclamation point came back. It says www.apple.com/support/ipod and I went there and went through like everything and it will not reset or anything. Any ideas?

iPods suck, get a dell mp3 player.... they're like indestructable and the iPods will randomly delete songs sometimes (if your lucky) they don't randomly delete your songs! i've had one for almost 3 years now! that's never happened to me. and if it does, you can just update your iPod again. and nothing is indestructable. you just have to buy a good case for it. and there are TONS more cases for iPods than Dell MP3 players. and speaking of which, to prevent further damage to your iPod, i suggest you buy the Agent 18 iPod Mini case. i have an Agent 18 for both my Nano and Photo iPods and it works really well. http://www.agent18.com/index.cfm?action=pr...7b-5feaa2e20dc4 http://www.agent18.com/index.cfm?action=pr...ee-24dfa38fba5d |

no, add1cted has it, anything made by apple is basically sh*t i have an iBook and an iPod, and they're not sh*t. sure, Apple operating system may be sh*t, but they have a program that allows you to install Windows. at least iPods look nice. the Dell MP3 Player looks like sh*t. anyways, what else makes the Dell MP3 Player better than the iPod? |

pretty much
for ipods to do so well. theres going to be plenty of problems.. the nanos although are rather good at being dropped seeing how some guy did test on them and rode a bike and dropped it and went down a road going 60 mph and dropped it out the window and it didn't have a screen and the back of it was off but it still played the music... only thing ive heard thats good is that ilife is supposed to be really nice.. |

OSX is s**t. its just pretty. and full of f'ing holes that no one at Apple wants to fix. the ipods are just like their computers. pretty but pieces of junk when it comes. look at the Zen players. beats the Ipod in every department except looks. why is the ipod popular? because it looks cool and is snapped up by trend whores.

The secret to the iPod's popularity isn't due to its being "trendy" per se. It became popular because of the whole package. Unlike other media players, it's simple. The Zen player's menus take forever to navigate, especially compared to the iPod. And it integrates well with iTunes. Many other players take "fiddling"; the iPod just needs to be plugged in, and it works. That's generally the Apple philosophy: just plug it in and go. That's why most of their software, from OS X down to iTunes, is beautiful--because it integrates well.
People don't want to take a lot of time to "fiddle" with computers. Hardcore computer enthusiasts might like the fact that the PC platform offers more room for tinkering, but the average computer user doesn't care about that or want that. They just want things to work. And that is why the iPod/iTunes combo became so popular: because it just works, without a lot of fiddling. |
