The whole school year I've been preparing for the AP Test, and now that it's nearly here, I know I'm not going to sleep very much.

Anyone else feeling it?

well kinda... i have 4: computer science, calculus, physics, us history. i think the only two i'm worried about are history and calc. i slacked off in calc. and i'm not good with remembering things 4 history. to add with all the stress with the ap tests.. i have SATs next saturday and my girl broke up with me sunday. so yea... it sucks right now and i've been having those sleepless nights yawn.gif ...well then again... i can make it!!!!!!!

I have AP language on Monday and US history Friday, I think. In language, if all goes well, I think I should get a 4, but perhaps I shouldn't jump to conclusions by the practice tests. History is a bit more concerneind. SO MUCH INFORMATION! I've been studying for a couple of weeks, but it feels like I'm getting nowhere. I haven't even touched on last semester yet, either...arghh. (Also, why do they have to start so f**king early? I have to be somewhere half an hour away by 7:00AM!!)

^I have language on Monday too. Then I have AP Lit on Thursday, and then AP Psych late testing on the 17th. Frankly, I'm not really nervous because 1) I'm going to college and I don't really care and 2) I've taken AP/IB Exams before, and they're really not that bad.

I'm getting a little stressed, I'm sure I'll be okay though.. I've been through 5 others, 5 more can't hurt. Prom is the weekend between AP weeks, though, so I'm kind of dividing my energies between that and studying. =)
The only one I'm really worried about is microeconomics, I might not do well on that since I haven't actually taken the class.

I guess I used to only take APs just cause I was in the AP class and everyone else was doing it.. now it's to max out my college credits. yesssss. Except there's more stress on me for the latter reason..

Wait a second.

1. You don't make As on AP tests
2. I don't think there's any way to take all APs since freshman year since there's just not that many AP classes

You can get an A in the class, but not on the actual AP test.

There's AP tests for these classes:
Art History
Biology
Calculus AB
Calculus BC
Chemistry
Chinese Language and Culture
Computer Science A
Computer Science AB
Economics: Macro
Economics: Micro
English Language and Composition
English Literature and Composition
Environmental Science
European History
French Language
French Literature
German Language
Government and Politics: Comparative
Government and Politics: United States
Human Geography
Italian Language and Culture
Japanese Language and Culture
Latin Literature
Latin: Vergil
Music Theory
Physics B
Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism
Physics C: Mechanics
Psychology
Russian Language and Culture
Spanish Language
Spanish Literature
Statistics
Studio Art: 2-D
Design Studio Art: 3-D Design
Studio Art: Drawing
United States History
World History

So even if your school actually offered all those classes (which isn't likely) there's just about no way that they could make up a 4 year curriculum. Whatever. What do I know?

You don't get grade letters for AP tests. You could get As in an AP CLASS, but not the test. The score is from 1-5.

Also, There is no such thing as AP Algebra II.

some schools may use the AP designation indescriminately, and apply it to classes that other schools designate as "advanced" or "honors"

but anyways. here's how to tell if you're in an actual AP class:

1- is there an exam, about 3 hours on average, with essays, in may, costing 80 some dollars that you can take?

if not, then no, it's not a real AP class.

anyways; i have

bc calc
lang and comp
physics C mech
physics C E and M
APUSH

i feel special. Next year i'll have 8.

Which would that be?

Lianguage and composition...which is guess you can tell now because other people took it too.

I really do hate the multiple choice. I don't think it was necessarily hard, but it felt like I was just putting down answers a lot of the time. Not necessarily guessing..but sort of. The last essay was ridiculously easy, and assuming I made sense, the frst two weren't that bad either.

I thought the essay questions were easier than the SAT essay questions. And I found the multiple choice pretty easy too since I'm taking the AP Literature&Composition Exam.

I finshed my IBHL English Paper 1 today. It wasn't too bad.

Funny thing I learned today. In 2003's AP Cal AB test, a score of 29 out of 108 would give you a 3, which is passing, in most cases. Hopefully that would make some of you more confident. Lol.

oi... i have Ap english literature on thursday morning, which will be joyous. i took the AP american history in 10th year and got a two, but i've never been a fan of history, and especailly not of american history. i don't think i'll have much of an issue with english literature, but i still hate taking such long tests.

according to classmates, our school's average was a 1.5, with only three or four 3 out of 75 students who took the exam.

not to make you paranoid or anything.

and yeah. ap english lit yesterday morning. twasn't killer, just boring. and i totally flopped on the essays. the second one took me ten minutes because i ran over the time on the first one and was afraid of taking too long. the free response one was amusing. Ahh, apparently since I'm in the last cycle taking the BC Calculus test, it's going to be the hardest.
Ahhh.

You're going to Milpitas High? How cool! Your school is so near ours.

&&it's a shame that AP classes can't be offered, because they are so, so, so important. Like, yowza.

Haha yeah, unfortunately. What school do you go to?

UGH. I'm taking AP Psych next week. And since our school only offers IB psych, I'm taking the IBHL Psych exams, but ALSO signed up for the AP Psych exam to take by myself. But we haven't studied half the psych material of AP :(

AP Psych was prob the easiest test I took, if it makes you feel better. When I say easy, I mean REALLY easy.

Actually, that makes me feel better at least, because I'm taking it next year, and I just found out I'll have the class first period, when I'm borderline incapable of learning just about anything, so hurrah!

I took US History and German. this year and Calc BC last year. The essays on the US History exam were really hard. I'm pretty sure I made a 1 or 2.

I wish I could take more AP classes. My school only offers AP US History/AP English/AP Calculus/German(but only for about 4 students). They need to offer AP Biology and Physics!

My school offers 2. mellow.gif

Its a tiny school, but still... =p

That's what I was going to say! Man.. there's less AP classes offered at my school than on that scanned list. laugh.gif But we still have more than two. I'd die if I went to your school, Steph. And Kevin - you got yours back today? What'd you get? Mmm. I guess I should be getting mine soon..

I got a 2 on my APES exam... Pretty embarrassing, haha, but that's what I was expecting.

Anyway, next year I'll be taking 4 exams: Lit, Calc AB, Psych, and Spanish Lang. I'm actually going to study this year; I want to do really well on the first three. Spanish, I have to say I don't care too much about.

I have AP European History too. So much reading, so much to prepare for the FRQs and DBQs.

Any tips on how to get a 9 (or at least a high score) in the essays?

In history?

Know events, know your stuff... writing style doesn't matter as much.
Have a clear thesis... conclusion's not as important, but it's good if you have one.

APES = AP Environmental Science :]

We took a practice Lit exam a couple of days ago, the objective/multiple-choice portion, and it wasn't too bad, actually.
