formal debates are horrible. i participated in one on human cloning once.....i just stood there and yelled about 1984, robots, and nightmares.

public speaking is so far from being my thing. cool.gif

but uh. abortion. blah. it's one of those issues that tears everyone apart at one point or another. it's so hard to make a sure decision and be confident about it while so many stories from the opposing side (whichever one)....are so convincing and thought provoking.

i think i can firmly say though...that as a form of birth control. it's wrong. it's wrong for idiotic women who didn't think ahead enough...to rush into a doctor's office and demand to have their mistake terminated. it's yet just another "easy way out" for people. and, i believe it is morally wrong. to be so desensistized to think...it's not possible that what you're destroying could be a child. that...you aren't terminating a possible life that was no fault but your own. all of the bullshit about "it's a woman's choice!!!" gets to me. because...any woman who CHOOSES to not protect herself and have enough respect for herself to do so....doesn't deserve to make such a choice whenever she screws up. it's irresponsible to use such a procedure as birth control. because there are repercussions, both physically and mentally...and it's not the same as taking a pill, getting a shot, or forcing your lover to wear a condom.

people just need to own up to their mistakes rather than running to the easy ways out. any other situation (rape, incest, etc.) needs to be examined and determined on a situational basis. as hypocritical as it may seem to me to say it. it's true. cause...pregnancies that are the result of a rape or molestation or incest or anything like that....would not only destroy the child's life from the get-go...but also the mother's and anyone who's connected to her. so...that's a lot of ruined lives. hard lives... and that needs to be considered.

kk. i've rambled enough. carry on, children, carry on.

Thanks, I was going to look for that.

We have a thread on abortion, as linked in the post above mine, so feel free to post there. smile.gif
