It looks to me like you just Smart Blurred/another type of blurring and then posterized. =\
If you did to that yourself, though, kudos for your detailed-ness. However, it's too blurry for my taste, the colours don't work (remember not to pick colours from the posterized original!), and, well, it's not really creative. |

Well I'm offended that you think my art is "fooling" people. I like vectors too. But I dont have the time to make them. I've got priorities before computer art and I don't do it as a profession. I mess around with the filters because its faster and I can still make a vector-like picture. So what! Its my art and I like it, I don't make it to please others. I do it for me. And I still think it looks pretty and I'm happy with it. Thats all that matters. Isn't that why you make your art?

^ I don't exactly define "art" as using a bunch of filters to achieve something that is intentionally supposed to look like something else, but that's just me.
If you're not aware of it, vectors and vexels that go through hours and days and weeks of work are STILL debated in the art community - are they really art? Some people debate that vexels and vectors (especially ones centred around realism) aren't art because they aren't original; they simply follow posterization lines and it's like an exact copy of an image. Vexel and vector advocates, obviously, disagree. However I do believe that the others present a good point - when you create something that looks exactly like the original image, without any thought or concept or theme or colour or any of the art elements, then how, may I ask, is that art? I guess my point is, that, if vexel/vectorers that spend hours on careful planning and expression of colours, placement, emotion, etc., in their art have it debated anyway, then what strength and validity does your argument present? You, after all, used a few filters and called it "art". Of course, please don't take any offense with this. I'm just trying to give another perspective. |

So are you trying to say that anything can be art? Not only vexels/vectors is debated on in the art community, computer art/graphics and just plain photography is as well because simply enough, it is not 'created.' But if you're saying that anything can be art, you're saying that if you cut a shape off a piece of paper and sticking it onto something else is art as well. Or, then you're saying that anything can be art, well, then I can say that I'm a walking piece of art.

I stand by what I said 110%. Not you or anyone else will change that.
If you don't think photography is art than that is your loss. Photography is a wonderful art form and I've seen many photographs that have taken my breath away. And haven't you heard that fashion is art? I would never tell someone that something they made isn't worth calling art and that it was false and doesn't matter to anyone. This is basically what some of you are saying to me. I find it rude and disheartening. I treat everyone here with respect and I only expect the same in return. And further more, if an artist took time, enjoyed the process, and liked the outcome of their work, what does it matter what anyone else thinks about it? I'm sorry that I'm fortunate enough to see the beauty [art] in everything. Maybe you one day will be as fortunate. Because I see that there is art all around us besides vectors, paintings, and all the other major categories. I see it in my living room where my ceramics are showcased, and in my garden where I work so hard to maintain my flowers and in my scrapbook where my photos are perfectly placed to display happy memories with family and friends. Sweetie, anything can be art. Even if it uses filters. It only needs to matter to me. A mod needs to close this thread. I've said my peace. |
