Ehh, it's a public site and it's quite popular among students that teachers know about it too. You really should read the book on your own, but many students don't and just Sparknote it and use the ideas on Sparknotes as their own. Some teachers recognize it and the student gets in trouble because it's plagiarizing. I think you should just read it for the summaries if you're desperate.

Sparknotes is perfectly fine unless you plaigerize. Teachers are very aware of sparknotes, so if you copy or even get close to the way they phrase it, you'll get caught.
