Yea I think it's the colors that make it christmasy.
You're right it is simple.....maybe use it as texture for a blend?

yah its really big lol but thats okay. its nice =) you did a good job.. just to let you know, you can change the colors of the picture by adding a solid color on a new layer [above all the other layers] then set it to color.
that way it wont look so christmas-ey.
