I have a div overlay in css. (if thats the right term). and 've seen in other profiles where the headers and such are in a font and the background is a color and extends out into a bar.

i don't know what its called and the codes 've tried to find or make don't quite work. heres is an example of a profile that has it... http://www.createblog.com/layouts/preview.php?id=9508

So you use a div overlay and want headers like in that profile where it says contacting?

wow that was a fast reply. thank you for that.

not so much the where. but how to get the effect of the text that is used in that particular contact table and page. (sry. i horribly confusing...)

I know not your contact table but the effect is just text one color then background color another color

ex code would be:
.text{font-color:ffffff; background-color:000000;}
that would give you white on black

You can achieve the same effect for titles in a div by using h1, h2, h3 w/ e

so if you want it for a div overlay you would add the following to your css:
h2{
font-family: fonthere;
font-size: sizepx;
font-color: colorhere;
background-color:colorhere;
}

or
.h2{
font-family: fonthere;
font-size: sizepx;
font-color: colorhere;
background-color:colorhere;
}

then wherever you want it to appear you would go <h2>texthere</h2>
