I'm doing this survey on Child Abuse, and I'd appreciate it so much if some of you guys took the time to fill this out. Thanks to all who participate.

Well, I mean, if it's like just a spanking, then whatever. thats the parents choice on how to decipline their child. but if its something major, thats bad. 2. What are some signs of child abuse? well, theres different types of child abuse. mental, emotional, physical. if the child is starting to feel like running away from home is the best choice, then somethings wrong. or if the child is scared of their parents/gaurdians. 3. Do you believe ACS effectively dealt with the cases of Nixmary Brown (7 year old girl from Brooklyn who died from beatings) and Sherlyn Polonia (2 year old baby from the Bronx who died of heroine overdose)? Explain. i dont know the stories. 4. How do you think the ACS should deal with child abuse? whats acs? 5. Do you think the ACS' efforts covering child abuse have improved thereafter? Explain. again..whats acs? 6. What do you think the long-term effects of child abuse have on its victims? well, the kids are going to eventually grow. obviously, theyre going to have problems with trust and i guess..could be paranoid? 7. To what extent do you think the use of narcotics influence child abuse? why would you even give kids drugs? its stupid? why would someone make a child dependent on a drug? people are stupid. 8. What kind of improvements would you suggest that ACS make concerning how they address child abuse? i still dont know what acs is. 9. What would you do if you knew someone who was a victim of child abuse? if they didnt get help, tell them to get help. have them get a therapist if they feel like they need help talking to someone or just coping. and id definitely be there for them. 10. What sentencing should a child abuser receive? i think it would depend on what they did. |

I'm my guess, I'm guessing anything that will harm that child. 3. Do you think the ACS' efforts covering child abuse have improved thereafter? Explain. Pretty ok, Hopefully they're trying their best. 6. What do you think the long-term effects of child abuse have on its victims? Terrible things to the victims. 7. To what extent do you think the use of narcotics influence child abuse? I don't quite know this on either.  8. What kind of improvements would you suggest that ACS make concerning how they address child abuse? Do it to their best extent, help prevent child abuse anyway they can. 9. What would you do if you knew someone who was a victim of child abuse? if they didnt get help, tell them to get help. have them get a therapist if they feel like they need help talking to someone or just coping. and id definitely be there for them. ^ Sorry, I just had to copy that, because it had all that I was thinking. 10. Hmm, I guess the most biggest is when the child's mood isn't normal. Like they suddenly become depressed or something like that. 3. I'm still clueless about what it is.. 9. What would you do if you knew someone who was a victim of child abuse? Help them, and if I can't help them, get them a therapist. 10. What sentencing should a child abuser receive? It depends.. but no less than 5-10 years? I tried my best to answer the questions. I'd probably have made more sense if I knew what ACS was.

Yes No Yeah, if it's on the news OEQ 1. How do you feel about child abuse? It depends, but overall, I feel that it is wrong. any kind of abuse (verbal, sexual, physical, emotional, etc). 2. What are some signs of child abuse? Well, it depends with each type of child abuse. For example, with physical abuse, there will be marks on the child's body. Also, if the child has a change in behavior, does not want to go home, etc. 3. Explain. Hmm, I only know the story of Nixmary Brown (RIP). I think that the ACS could have dealt better with her family before her death. I remember that there were several complaints about her family, but nothing was really done. If ACS had investigated further, they might have found that she was being malnourished, etc, and perhaps would have been able to save her life. 4. How do you think the ACS should deal with child abuse? I think they should try their best to check out each case and make follow up checks. Eh, I'm not exactly sure how they deal with child abuse now... 5. Do you think the ACS' efforts covering child abuse have improved thereafter? Explain. Eh, I really don't know, sorry. 6. What do you think the long-term effects of child abuse have on its victims? Well, it would definitely scar the victims emotionally and influce the way they act/feel about/around certain things. They might not trust others easily and would question their motives. 7. To what extent do you think the use of narcotics influence child abuse? I think it might be to a great extent. Narcotics may cause the user to do things/act in ways they might not normally. Also, it can make the user more violent and susceptible to child abuse. 8. What kind of improvements would you suggest that ACS make concerning how they address child abuse? I'm not sure how they currently address child abuse, but I think they should be more diligent and to try not to overlook small cases. 9. What would you do if you knew someone who was a victim of child abuse? I would first tell him/her to get an adult to help, someone that would know what to do. Of course I would be there to support him/her, but (s)he really needs the help of an adult. 10. What sentencing should a child abuser receive? It really depends on what they did. The more severe the abuse, the longer time they should serve. |

When the child is acting abnormal...with excessive anger and attitude problems. They might tend to be a loner and not interact with other kids. 3. Explain. I've never heard of either of these cases.. 4. How do you think the ACS should deal with child abuse? By getting good evidence that the child's parents/guardians are abusing them and taking action by reporting the adults to the police and taking the child away from the home. 5. To what extent do you think the use of narcotics influence child abuse? I think it has some influence, but you can't completely blame narcotics for the reason as to why adults abuse children. 8. What kind of improvements would you suggest that ACS make concerning how they address child abuse? I'm not sure. 9. What would you do if you knew someone who was a victim of child abuse? I would contact the police and let them know exactly what was going on so that the victim could get help immediately. 10. What sentencing should a child abuser receive? They should receive atleast 10-15 years in prison. |
