Flashing a smile, Does it have a reason behind? Options

Girls, when you flash a smile to guys, do you really mean it (most of the time), that you are friendly, or are you faking it, just to be nice even though you don't want to.

And what is a technique to distinguish if it is real or inane?

Well, it depends on who the guy is. My friendlier smiles are bigger and others are small grins.

Most of the time, if it's a guy they like, and they smile (it's most likely real). There's a reason why they smile and that's probably because they're looking at their crush. You can tell if the girl's smile is fake, if it's TOO toothy. like this: erm...bad example there's no teeth!

Most of the time it's friendly :) The way you can tell is if we hold eye contact with you and smile. If not so much, then it's probably just a little fake ;)

I think it depends on the guy. For instance I still can't help it by grinning at an old crush, it's just natural.
I sometimes force myself to smile because I don't want to look all sad when I pass one of my guy friends in the hallway. I don't want to look unwelcome, if you know what I mean.

For some reason I just always smile. For example, my friends always tell me EVERY TIME I talk to someone, whether it be a boy or girl, I smile! I guess I'm just a smiley person

it depends on the situation.

when i accidentally hit someone with something or grazed someone, i smile apologetically and say sorry. that's real, it's kind of like a mix of these:

when some guy is trying to impress me and says something kind of stupid, i fake smile which is like the eyes and eyebrows of plus the smile of

when some guy is hitting on me and flatters me, it's a genuine smile if they really drag it on even though they know they've been turned down, the smile gets fake like a mixture of these

for my fake smiles, the big give away is the raising of both my eyebrows along with my smile and a slight nodding sometimes.

when i'm annoyed it's a mix between a sneer and a smile.

the eyes are another big give away if you can detect disinterest in them. when you don't really enjoy most people like me, you tend to notice your own reactions to people.

I'm sure anyone could tell with me. My real, genuine smiles are huge and toothy. While my less genuine ones are real cheesy looking or like half grins or showing no teeth. Haha.

Most of the time, lately, I just do the fake smiles because I don't really have much to really truly smile about. But they are just as friendly, I think.

when I say "hi" to someone, I always smile. so you could call that not real, although I am smiling because I'm happy to see them...anyway, when I'm smilling at any other time then right when I say hello, it's real.

Actually, for me, the bigger the smile, the more sincere it is.

Usually, if I'm just trying to be nice, I'll flash a smaller smile. Or if I'm just passing by in the hallway.

Usually I smile because...I guess thats what people expect from me. Most of the time it's this huge grin, like trying to convince people that it's a genuine smile. A true smile for me, though, would be...not a smile. I'd laugh instead.

It really depends on who I'm smiling to and the situation. The way to distinguish a fake smile from a genuine one is by looking at their eyes. If it's a real smile, there will be crinkle(s) at the eyes because of the cheek muscles. I forgot the biology of it but I think BBC has some info about it.

If its a quik small smile its most probably to say hello or being friendly.

When i smile to guys its because i like them so yeah.

Most of the time you can tell a genuine smile by the look in that persons eyes. You can see a smile in the eyes, so to speak.
